#9177814 Dark Side of the Moon Immersion Boxset $87.16 @ Amazon

Posted by iluvmywife on 16 February 2012 - 05:23 AM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

Now $75.28

Probably will drop again right around when The Wall one comes out.

I hope so but I don't know if I could justify the expense, not to say that they are not worth it. If I didn't already have several expensive hobbies, then I would be all over several of these sets. As it is, I can only hope that they are heavily overproduced and will at one point reach my very low buy point.

Sets I would love to have:

Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Wall
Momentary Lapse of Reason
Division Bell

I could probably do without the latter two if I had to although the Division Bell holds up a lot better than I thought it would when it was released.

Did anybody caught them on the Pulse Tour?

I saw them at the old Texas Stadium on the Friday night show, best concert ever!!!

#9164287 Dark Side of the Moon Immersion Boxset $87.16 @ Amazon

I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd minus Roger during their Pulse tour. It was awesome, very freaking amazingly awesome.

To me, Pink Floyd is Roger Waters and David Gilmore with both Mason and Wright in their as well. To me, Barrett is not part of the Floyd that I love.

They should've done this for a Pink Floyd album that actually deserves the praise it gets.

I would think that 95% of all Pink Floyd fans would disagree. I do get what you are saying though and just because you don't care for the album does not mean your any less of a fan than myself.

Any Floyd is good Floyd. Nuff said.

False in my opinion. I am a huge fan of Gilmore but must admit that I like Roger even more. Have you listen to the Final Cut? It was all Roger and it basically sucks as a Pink Floyd album. I have Roger's solo stuff too which is not much better, yet I am still a huge fan of his Floyd stuff. Atom Heart Mother blows too as do a few of their lesser albums.

Bring on a Blu-Ray of 'Pompeii' love that film.

I have it on VHS, it was a special order around 18 years or so. I really enjoyed it back in the day.

#8836571 Sunday Ad Video Game Deals (11/6/11 to 11/12/11) Modern Warfare 3 Deals

Posted by iluvmywife on 07 November 2011 - 01:53 PM in Deal Graveyard

Well, does anybody think MW3 will get cheaper during Black Friday or around Christmas time? How was it for Black Ops last year?

I am not for sure but it seems like Target might have had it on sale for $37.99 or maybe $47.99 sometime last year before Christmas.

#8490795 Is Herman Cain a bigot, or just an asshole?

Posted by iluvmywife on 23 July 2011 - 12:05 PM in Vs. mode: Politics & Controversy

Actually, that was a jab at me. The short of it is that racism is about power, not just prejudice, so black people can't be racist because they lack institutional power,

I thought that there were black people in both houses of congress, the supreme court, and the president? Furthermore, are there not black generals, officers and NCO in the military. What about black mayors, police chiefs, etc.

You should contact the NAACP and let them know about this!

#8326012 Gohastings New Games Sale

Posted by iluvmywife on 01 June 2011 - 12:51 PM in Video Game Deals

does the trade in deal work with all 360 games?

The only game they did not take was "you're in the movies" because it did not have a barcode and the person working appeared that they did not want to manually put in the title.

Without the extra two $20 promo, I would have only received $17 total for the really poor TIV games I had. So I am very happy getting the extra $40.

To answer your question, I would say that they would take any PS3 or 360 game with a barcode.

Posted by iluvmywife on 31 May 2011 - 10:09 PM in Video Game Deals

If this is true, and the trade promo did actually start on the 29th I'm gonna be pissed.

I went on the 29th to trade some games in and asked the employee why I wasn't getting the additional $20 trade credit for the 3 games I was trading in, and he replied "It doesn't start 'til June 1st".

Edit: Just called my local Hastings and they said that this deal has been going on for the past 2 days!:bomb:

Employees at the store near me did not know anything about this deal. At first they said we needed a coupon from the flyer. Then we showed them the flyer and they took 15 minutes but finally figured it out after calling a manager.

We did two transactions in order to get the extra $20 twice.

Great deal on games that had a really poor TIV.

I think these deals are also available in store. I was at Hastings yesterday to trade some games in for the "trade 3 get additional $20" deal (which incidentally doesn't start 'til June 1st)and I had them scan Dante's Interno Divine Edition, Army of Two 40th Day, and Dead Space, and they all rang up as $10.

I didn't actually buy any of them, since I'm going to wait for until June 1st to trade in some games for that promo, so I just had them hold the games for me.

Ok, I did a search and did not see anything posted so I thought I would just throw this out there for those of you who have a Hastings B&M.

"Get additional credit when you sell us your XBOX 360, PS3 & Wii Games: 2 games $10/ 3 Games $20."

Promo is good from 5/29 to 6/4

http://www.gohastings.com/custserv/c...geName=storead

I traded in the following (all xbox 360):
Wanted: Weapons of Fate
Stranglehold
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection
Scene It? Box Office Smash
Shadowrun
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

Walked out the door with $57 credit.

#8246837 LEGO Deals 2

Posted by iluvmywife on 07 May 2011 - 02:25 PM in Non-gaming Deals

Long time lurker, first time poster in this thread. About a month ago I bought my kids the $8 Star Wars Battle Packs while we were shopping at Target. Now we're hooked. I've since spent $500+ on Legos for myself, er, I mean for them.

I have fond memories of Legos while I was growing up. I gave them all away when I went off to college, wish I kept them now.

Going to check around now for that clearance Enforcer. Anything space related (Star Wars, Space Police, Creator Space Shuttle, etc.) are huge hits in my household.

Dude, get out while you can.

Seriously, the best part of lego collecting is spending time with your child/kids. We have a ton of fun building then playing with them. I also like the thrill of the hunt for really good deals on lego sets. I usually buy several sets, if the deal is really good, and will ebay one set to help fund the set we keep.

At our house, Star Wars, City (Trains), and Toy Story lego are the ones we buy.

#8225476 Pirates OTC 1-3 (BR/DVD) $13.49-$14.99 each w/ Movie Cash for PotC4

Posted by iluvmywife on 30 April 2011 - 01:06 PM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

I have the 7 disc Blu Ray version. The barcode on bottom is 786936812343

The only reason I posted was to let possible CAGers know that perhaps they would not get 4 free tickets with this trilogy set.

I am a little disapointed that I did not get 4 tickets after reading this thread.

The good news is that I bought my copy at Hastings B&M store for $54.99 with credit. I been doing a mix of old penny game guides and dvds that I have upgraded to Blu to acquire all of my credit. I have also been using weekly Hastings coupons to get extra credit when I trade in five dvds and books (game guides). I feel good because those DVDs and game guides are absolutely worthless and I couldn't give them away.

#8224373 Pirates OTC 1-3 (BR/DVD) $13.49-$14.99 each w/ Movie Cash for PotC4

Posted by iluvmywife on 30 April 2011 - 01:01 AM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

Did you try printing the tickets. I think with Toy Story 1+2 they grouped TS3 tickets together in 1 link when you redeemed 2 or more.

I had no problem with the TS1 and TS2 tickets with Disney rewards.

I went ahead and looked to see if they were grouped and they were not.

I only got one ticket and that was with the trilogy code that was worth 100 points.

I double checked my points earned and it only shows one ticket.

Each time I put in one of the individual codes from the set, a new banner popped up saying I had a new movie ticket to redeem. By the time I was finished there were four banners present on my screen.

I don't know if this was a glitch or what, but I know that had my printer not run out of ink during the last ticket I would have four tickets tacked onto my bulletin board rather than just 3 ;(

I did not get a new banner when I put the individual movie codes. Instead all I got was the option to Add Stream.

#8220381 Pirates OTC 1-3 (BR/DVD) $13.49-$14.99 each w/ Movie Cash for PotC4

Posted by iluvmywife on 28 April 2011 - 11:57 PM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

I bought the trilogy, and there is a DMC for the trilogy itself worth 1 ticket (and points of its own), and then each movie individually has a DMC code inside of it worth another ticket (and points). So you can technically get up to 4 tickets when you buy the trilogy.

I bought the Blu Ray trilogy and I only got one ticket with the trilogy code. Each of movies have a code but no free tickets, instead they have a free streaming movie??????

You may want to check your codes, perhaps you do have 4 tickets.

Trilogy code = 100 points plus ticket
Each movie code = 125 points and streaming movie!

#8212640 LEGO Deals 2

Posted by iluvmywife on 26 April 2011 - 11:37 PM in Non-gaming Deals

I had to pull the trigger on the X-Wing and AT-AT over the weekend. I got the manager to apply the B1G150% off Star Wars coupon and got 2 of each. Spent close to $200, but I figure I better get these sets now while I have the chance. Oh and it still applied the "free drop ship" deal so I got 2 free bags of that one. $30 each for the X-Wings and $60 each for the AT-ATs plus 2 free polybags, I can't really complain too much.

I'm going to go through my polybag minifigs and see which extras I can part with...

That X-wing is a great set. My little girl and I loved building it and flying it around the house. I like the AT-AT but haven't opened it yet so I can't really say how great it is. Unless you get extremely lucky with clearance, which is hit and mostly miss for some of us, you did good with the B1G150%.

I scored a couple of sets at target and got the AT-ST and fireman for 50% off. There was no way they would ever make 75% off around here.

#8155475 Decent Blu Ray Player for 120-ish?

Posted by iluvmywife on 09 April 2011 - 11:06 PM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

^^^ I don't know, buying used is to me is a waste of money, how do you know that the previous owner did not totally abuse it? What happens if it stops working in a couple of months. Since the OP and some people don't want a PS3 and since the thread is titled "Decent Blu Ray Player for 120-ish?, I think people want to know about deals on stand alone players.

Besides, some people want to run an HDMI from the PS3 direct to the TV and want to run an optical straight from the player to a receiver. This is not possible with PS3, best I can remember.

+1 on the Panasonic (especially if you sell the Avatar movie on ebay for $100+).

+2 and now when you buy it you can grab $40 worth of movies free instore on the same receipt. Deal is good thru 4/23 I believe.

#8155376 LEGO Deals 2

I hope Tron Legacy is a good movie because I just bought last night.

I am kinda wishing Lego would move away from movie and license product and just go on their own with their own original ideas to help keep prices down.

I am really hoping I can find the new train set on sale by summer end. It would make for a nice addition to our city sets.

#8155366 $10.00 and under Blu Ray on Amazon - Wiki

Posted by iluvmywife on 09 April 2011 - 10:15 PM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

Added The Neverending Story, The Lost Boys and The Last Starfighter, because all three are awesome. I also added 300 back in there.

How is the PQ on The Last Starfighter? I loved that move many years ago when it came out at the theater and then cable tv.

#8155361 Decent Blu Ray Player for 120-ish?

Posted by iluvmywife on 09 April 2011 - 10:12 PM in Blu-ray & DVD Deals

Both Amazon and Best Buy are runing specials on this player,
Panasonic DMP-BDT110 Wi-Fi Ready 3D/2D Blu-ray Disc Player.

At amazon it is $133 and you get two free movies from a really small list of less demand titles.

At Best Buy instore it is $149 plus tax and you get $40 in free movies.

I got it at best buy and really like this player. I had a older Samsung that was a complete POS. I alsmost moved one of my PS3 into this room but I really wanted a stand alone unit.

Because hoarding is selfish and greedy and it makes other people mad when you talk about it. If you're going to be a dirty hoarder, at least keep it to yourself.

I don't think you understand the word hoarding. Most hoarders do not sell or part with anything.

Perhaps you mean Capitalism?

My local store would not take it?????

#8139514 Best Buy Trade-in Thread: 50% Bonus with Pre-order of Rage or NBA 2K12, 9/25-...

Posted by iluvmywife on 05 April 2011 - 03:29 AM in Video Game Deals

New question, because Best Buy decided to use a hellishly confusing shipping label that includes two methods, and about 4 barcodes...

So uh... I mailed the package via USPS (apparently the same label can be used for UPS or USPS), and I notice there isn't really a tracking number on it (for USPS). Just a 'Parcel Select Return Service' number. I folded the shipping label over the UPS barcode so it hopefully wouldn't confuse the mail man, if it makes a difference.

But yeah, kind of weird. Anyone else do a BB mail-in trade lately and have anything to add?

Just a FYI, but you should not fold over the label to cover the UPS barcode.

The label is intended to have both USPS and UPS labels and barcode. It is know as a UPS Basic or Sure Post.

#8138719 Gamestop Power Saver Sale: 4/1-4/24

Posted by iluvmywife on 05 April 2011 - 12:02 AM in Deal Graveyard

quick question, does gamestop open all their "new" games? cuz i want new (and by new i dont mean never played, i mean actually new)

I bought a FO:NV CE set that was new and still factory sealed. I also bought FO3 GOTY edition which was not sealed. I ask for a refund for the FO3. The FO NV CE was a really good deal for $29.

I don't hate GS nor its employees but I will not stand for an open game when I buy new.

If the game is not sealed and new then no thanks GS, I will simply shop elsewhere and get a new sealed game when I buy a new game.

Thanks for the laugh.

I don't really care for Fallout but for $29.99, it might make for a nice gift.

#8075177 (DEAD) Homefront - $41.96 @ Amazon.

Posted by iluvmywife on 16 March 2011 - 11:59 PM in Deal Graveyard

I don't put to much stock into reviews. That said, it sounds like the SP is a bit on the short side. I like the guy who wrote it and I will buy this game but not for $60 or even $40.

I am going to buy this game at around $30 with either Hastings credit or Gamestop credit.

I would buy via Amazon but I just don't want to spend money out of pocket.

#8073636 The fighter 5 dollar off coupon

The best time to buy a new release is usually during the first week of release unless you want to wait several months for a price drop.
