Doug and Josh are basically living their dream as two guys who started a huge business just out of their love for games. Josh has one of the best collections I've ever seen. They want to be like Josh or Doug. Some of them probably want to be Josh or Doug. Instead of being happy for two guys being successful, though, they'd rather hate them. Doesn't matter, LRG is not slowing down anytime soon despite what the haters would like to see and will continue satisfying thousands of game collectors around the world. Really, have any of them actually talked to Josh or Doug in person? Anyone who has can say what great guys they are. It's only the basement dwellers who never leave their house, never visited a LRG booth or a store in person, and never had a conversation with them who claims they're so bad.

Fiona is the most jerkin' girl in the world!  Everybody loves Fiona!  She's got the best hair and the most awesome clothes!  And she's so thin!  I know I want to be just like Fiona!

Acquisitions typically come with a retention clause on leadership for a year so as to not spook investors.  So likely they got their golden parachutes on and waiting to pull the cord next August, 2023.

While that's certainly true in general, Embracer has been mostly content to let their acquisitions keep doing their own thing with little corporate interference.  More like collecting baseball cards rather than "pull de strinkgs!" marionettes.  I suspect it'll come down more to what Josh and Doug want to do next.

So many questions... mainly, what's their plan it with, what's gonna happen to the store, and are they assuming the liabilities for all the unfinished/unshipped games?

In the short term anyway, it sounds like it's steady-as-she-goes, at least to a point.  Josh and Doug are still in their same roles, but the aim is to do it all bigger and better.

I'm assuming that Embracer wants to leverage LRG's customer relationships to sell more niche newer games from their studios and (especially!) archive-type titles, perhaps even on LRG's Carbon Engine, directly to customers.  Embracer has a staggeringly large back catalog that could keep LRG going for ages, in addition to the sorts of titles they're releasing now.  And since Embracer owns those IPs -- so less in the way of licensing costs -- the margins look even better.

Doug did (is doing?) an AMA on the LimitedPrintGames subreddit.

One thing I wasn’t aware of that was brought up is opening a European office. They’re also looking into putting a small down payment rather than paying the entire price of a game upfront.

But that supports what I referenced from the stream earlier: that copies from other retailers (like Amazon) will have the Pizza Hut coupon.  Or is the point of contention that I didn't say "U.S. only" (which I probably should've)?

Free personal pizza is only through lrg. Josh updated a tweet

I see where he said it wouldn’t be available in Asia or Europe, but I couldn’t quickly find a tweet from Josh saying that the regular retail release they’re publishing wouldn’t have the coupon.

I didn't watch... it's usually a garbage presentation. Anything good (subjective, I know) worth noting?

No matter where you buy Shredder’s Revenge — from LRG or another retailer — you’ll get a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. So there’s that!

The presentation was actually pretty clever and fun, at least if you played a bunch of cornball FMV shooters in the arcade growing up. For my money, anyway, it was easily LRG’s best showcase, although I can’t say that I walked away excited about preordering much of anything. (I’ll get Shredder’s Revenge somewhere else.) But they did show a lot of potentially interesting stuff, especially if you’re into NES/Game Boy games, FMV, or Japanese shmups.

He's talking about the one you're thinking. Shredder's Revenge is only being offered through LRG for NTSC version

Limited Run themselves say it’ll be coming to “major retailers”.

LRG is still saying that we'll see their first Xbox releases announced this summer, so...LRG3, maybe?

The little script I wrote to post LRG updates is kaput.  The redesigned Production Updates page no longer includes estimated shipping windows in the HTML, and while I could have it crawl the individual product pages and scrape the dates from there...eh.  It was fun (I guess?) while it lasted, though!

Sorry if this has been discussed in the past few pages - but has anyone heard any updates on Dracula X / Rondo Of Blood turbografx CD release?

Just that it's still in the works.
