There are sometimes anomalies that aren't eligible for promo codes for whatever reason. If you contact them, they may credit you the dollar. You bought more than one movie, right? So it was just one item that wasn't eligible.

Urgh my last book from last week was supposed to be delivered today after being "missent" to the wrong Post Office yesterday. Tracking says it was delivered, but it wasn't in my mail. So either it wasn't delivered, or someone stole it out of the mail box. Awesome.

I'll give it another day to show up since the "delivered" time is unusual for my neighborhood and I really doubt the mail man was there that early so maybe it was incorrectly scanned, but who knows.

I never get in on the "go hastings has a sale and so they raised all the prices" conspiracies. I just got a good laugh, though, browsing through the used game inventory. Both games I checked started at one price as I was browsing and then jumped up 30% when I clicked on the individual titles (no, they were still available - not that weird out-of-stock price-shifting). Be a LITTLE less obvious hastings. :)

They had the Avengers on Blu-Ray, had to mix that with another movie and game that I didn't really want but they were cheap enough. Everything else I wanted was sold out or way overpriced.:-/

I thought about getting that one but I kinda figured amazon or best buy would have it on a decent sale for black friday. Hoping anyway :-)

Bah, I didn't think about that. It was $9.84 after the discount. Probably could have gotten a new copy for $10 on/during BF. Well... I'm an idiot.

not if they dont have it on sale lol. I was hoping for a 9.99 amazon lightning deal, but ive seen popular movies like that for 12.99 on BF before, so maybe you got lucky and saved $3!

Hastings prices are quite easy to figure out. They sell on Amazon based on condition and Amazon prices. If one sells on Hastings or Amazon the price adjusts unless they have multiple copies at that same price. It is not some strange conspiracy there is just not a fixed price for all copies of the same item especially if they are not in the same condition.

Not necessarily true. They often have different prices from their Amazon counterpart-pricing, or if the item is not on Amazon it can be drastically above or below the "market price" for better or worse.

As I said, I could care less, it was just a funny, obvious bump. I like the sporadic pricing. It's always lead to great deals from them.

I got it for $3.70 (with free shipping) from them during that magical % off + free shipping day a few weeks ago. I can't remember what the starting price would have been but definitely lower than 7.

So, yes, technically.

Yes that's the standard system email you get when all the items in your order are have gone through the fulfillment process. In your case, your item was cancelled, which happens from time to time. It happens.

For those interested, Hastings is selling single issue comic books online here: http://www.gohasting...tm_nooverride=1
No idea if they come bagged and boarded. They seem to fall into the $0.96 shipping for books scheme.

I got it to work with two DS games and a CD in my cart. It discounted the CD to a $1.

Yeah I've been having trouble finding qualifying items. Seems like the qualifying list might be quite gimped at the moment. Makes it easier for me to not give them my money though.

But they just did essentially 30% off and B2G1 is close to 30% off... You'd have to think Black Friday has got to be at least more 30% off if not more, if the people at Hastings have any marketing sense. And then of course some things from Black Friday might be even more discounted on Cyber Monday, since Hastings surprisingly participated in that logic last year. I think DVD and CD discounts got greater come Sunday/Monday compared to Friday/Saturday.

So on one hand, it's a waiting game of sorts in hopes of a greater discount. On the other hand, us online shoppers have to compete against some pretty great in store deals starting on Thanksgiving. Pull the trigger now or ride it out until Thursday?

On the third hand... it's going to be disappointing if Hastings doesn't top these deals. 30% off 3 or more is already a better deal than B2G1 since you got the straight 30% across all items instead of the games you have to play with B2G1 to get a decent overall percent discount. Anything less than 30% from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday is going to be a letdown.

It's kind of frustrating that other retailers have more or less shown their hands for the Black Friday madness, while Hastings actively goes out of their way to hide their online deals from consumers in what I can only assume is an attempt to protect the current promotion.

Ugh... now I really regret my 30% off purchase.

Oh well, guess everything's still sold out so I can't take advantage of this deal anyway.

Why? 30% off was a better way to go than this B2G1 unless you have three items of the exact same price, and even then, the savings is only marginal. If you're worried about a better BF deal popping up... it's a possibility but knowing how illogical Hastings can be, it's also totally possible they totally drop the ball for BF.

I don't know why, but I knew that from Gamestop's B2G1F vs % off sales... but still didn't think of it when I made my post.

Interesting idea. Since they aren't a big warehouse store, even if they DID have a Black Friday sale, how many employees are going to be pulling inventory for online sales vs employees actively dealing with brick-and-mortar customers? Personally, I'd except a huge spike in "cancelled" that day. It would make a LOT more sense to hold off until Cyber Monday when the shoppers have dispersed... but then again, a lot of inventory would be MIA.

Moral of the story: Instant Gratification! Buy now!

I have no idea how they currently staff things or what their holiday staffing looks like, but they have a dedicated department for fulfilling online orders. I don't think they're going to neglect online orders because the number of online orders will undoubtedly be extra high due to Black Friday stuff.

That being said, I'd simply expect more-than-usual cancellations even if the "GoShip" department is extra staffed because they might not be able to beat out all the increased foot traffic in the stores. There's only so much you can expect of those employees and the crappy inventory system when up against the holiday rush which is including great sales on used items in-store.

So if its something you really want and its a good price, you probably should go for it now. But if you don't need to add it to your backlog or whatever, then it might be worth the gamble of waiting until Thursday, Friday, or Sunday.

I've bought more from them in the past few days than I've ever bought before... so far, I've ordered 7 books (RPG) for a total of 35 dollars. 2 of which were just now. hopefully they are in better condition then one of the books I've previously bought from them (stolen (spine damaged)).
