Godspeed You! Black Emperor tonight. Really cool. No East Hastings though I get it that they don't want to play it every single concert. There were moments where the concert was more than amazing. Downsides are the pure drone down times. Band trying to catch their breath but I did yawn so yeah not fond of that. Overall though I'm very happy I finally got to see them after coming to terms that that would likely never happen.

Another concert tonight:

Orbital. This was a wonderful wonderful wonderful experience. I was smiling all the way home. Classic.

Dethklok with All That Remains and Black Dahlia Murder. It's so odd seeing hipsters at a metal show. Odd and painful.

Of Monsters and Men on Saturday. I'm not into new alternative that much but it was actually a really good show. Was really surprised to hear that it was sold out. I didn't know they were that popular.

Dave Matthews Band last night.

Great show, with a solid set list. All the stuff off the newest album was very good live. Was great being on the floor 20 feet or so back after mainly having lawn or back of pavilion seats to see them in recent years.

Fuck. That was the loudest thing I have ever heard. Bass entered every part of my being and I forgot there was such a thing as silence.

Smashing Pumpkins last weekend, Eve 6 last Monday. Never saw SP before, and they are one of my favs so was good to go to that. Eve 6 was OK (wife wanted to see more), but venue was pretty sweet. Will have to keep an eye out for future stuff there. Sonata Arctica would have been cool to see there, but they had same night as SP so can't be upset I missed that.

Big Clutch fan (if you couldn't tell my avatar).

I'm gonna try and see Clutch for 14th time in March down in Cincy. They always put on an awesome show! First time I saw them was back in '92 or '93 with Sepultura at The Newport in Cbus.

Here is a link to their instagram account.
http://instagram.com/clutchofficial/

They recently posted some images from their first tour. The funny thing is Tim still looks about the same albeit larger and older.

JP rocking the Redman hat  He looks so much different.

Neil with the porn stache.

Dan with the quintessential "90's dude" haircut.

Even though they look different, I still recognize some of their mannerisms to this day.

Somethings never change. 8-)

Soundgarden last Friday at the Wiltern, followed by Tomahawk at the Mayan Tuesday.

One of the best facets of living in Los Angeles is getting scads of good shows. My wife is going to see Zach Galifanakis tomorrow night as well... of course, he doesn't rock as loud as Soundgarden.

Saw Gavin Harrison & 05Ric tonight. A nice laid back show showcasing some highly advanced musicians.
You guys will know Gavin from his drumming on Porcupine Tree albums since 2002.

Amazing.

Flying into Washington tomorrow and I'm seated right next to the engine, but I'll be able to sleep soundly after that.

Polar opposites for my last two shows.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on Friday. Played a piece by Ravel, then a Bassoon Concerto by Mozart and finished with Beethoven's Synmphony No. 6.

Bad Religion last night, Burns like Fire and Polar Bear Club opened. Awesome show, especially Bad Religion. Have been a big fan since the early 90's, but first time seeing the live. Put on a great show with a great set list.

Next up will be some free concerts around the Final Four in a couple of weeks. Sting, Muse and DMB are the main ones I want to catch.
