it isnt that bad as the PS3 version already got Knights of Nine. You are really only missing shivering isles. This would be a great deal...if the GotY Editions weren't out. Not bad, though I doubt I'll bite. Maybe if it was the 360 version...

Think an 11 year old can play this game without any fuss?
Or is there some Xbox huge learning curve?
I think so. This was a decently easy RPG. There is arrows and guidepoints so you won't get lost, too.

FYI: Wombat has mentioned about 7 times that he prefers Oblivion on the PS3.

I kept having audio problems with the PS3 version. Other than that, it seemed identical to the 360 version. I was hoping it'd install itself to my HD to cut back on loading times, but nope.
What are you talking about? The game (original version don't know about the new GOTY ones for the 360/PS3) does install itself to the HDD and the loading times are shorter than the 360 version. The game also has less pop-up and stutter loading during in game play as you roam across the country. It's not a mindblowing difference, but it's a difference none the less.
FYI this is a great deal for anyone who was thinking about buying it. The main thing it doesn't have that anyone would care for is Shivering Isles, and Bestheda has stated that SI will be coming to the PS3 either as a extra standalone disk or on the PSN (or maybe both?) for those who have the original Oblivion. At $19.99, even if they charge the asinine $29.99 for the SI expansion, it's still less than the price of the GOTY edition.
Also, FYI great price, but don't over blow it, the original Oblivion is $29.99 everywhere now for both the 360 and PS3. Still a nice $10 save on a great game.

I didn't notice shorter load times. Does it install itself to the HDD automatically or do you have to set it to?

buy from Amazon and return the one from them with the other one you opened, assuming you paid $30 for it at a store.
