If i put a bit of bleach on my skin will it leave a mark, i have ringworm in two places and anti fungal can take up to 4 weeks but i read bleach can take as little as three days. one of the patches looks to have died down and doesn't sting, last night i put anti fungal on them and one of them stung for a bit, this morning i put a tiny amount of bleach on two q-tips and applied it to each ringworm, the same one stings and the same one doesn't,so if it fails its no big whoop, i am just worried about it leaving a mark. Any ideas

i got them from wrestling if it means anything.

1. Ask a doctor.
2. Shower more, preferably at school, right after practice. (I wrestled in high school, ringworm and impatego are a bitch to deal with).

I had them from jiu jitsu once...I just put bleach on them periodicly and it went away around a week or so. It didn't leave a mark.

Bleach isn't as dangerous as you'd think, i wouldn't advise drinking it, but getting it on your skin isn't going to hurt you.

I enjoy the videos and puns posted by Joliet Jake. I think he's almost as funny as my favorite comedian, Dane Cook. Now excuse me while I listen to Fallout Boy's music on their myspace page.

well i looked at my patch before showering which is 30 minutes after a applied it, and it looks so much smaller, i reapplied it a few minutes ago.

Hotshot, our program is one of the most respected in Nassau county so we are always on the mat, i got these two particularly from a camp two weeks ago and we weren't able to shower after like after a normal practice. Its macarthur if anyone was curious.

The best thing to do when you aren't sure of something like this is to look up the MSDS.

Here's one for lye: http://www.jtbaker.c...hhtml/s4034.htm

Do both. When it goes away, continue both treatments for a few more days and go back to the doctor to see if it is gone.

I can't believe I have to be saying this. Bleach and Lye are both caustic, corrosive and poisonous. I dont know about topically, you guys do what you want. But there are to be NO posts about ingesting poison on this site.

Maybe you do. I haven't seen it, so I have no idea what some fictional movie taught you.

So, I'm really curious... how do you get ringworms from wrestling or contact sports?

Well, porn stars bleach their butthole....so I would assume it is ok. I believe it is a "special" solution though. They did it on Howard Stern one day.

I learned about it from putting it in my hair. :hot:

Ringworm is a fungus, not worms. It lives on skin and is passed by sweat. You get someone else's sweat or other fluid on you (or heavy skin contact), it digs in and starts eating itchy round holes in your skin.

deleting my post for calling people dumb if they drank bleach/lye is pretty pathetic. Don't you have better things to moderate?

I've been deleting posts which suggested people imbibe poison. Is that so shocking?

I am a manly man who has done the family's laundry regularly and for years. I get cholorinated bleach on my hands quite often and it hasn't changed my skin's pigmentation.

Skin (and other area "bleaching") is done with Kojic acid, Hydroquinone and Mandelic Acid.

On a side note, I would avoid using consumer laundry bleach on my skin (ie. not applying it topically and leaving it on for a long duration) because some of them use various heavy metals as bleaching catalysts, which might not have a good long term effect.

Under the features section, it says "Look younger, everywhere."

I don't know whether to laugh or be horrified.
