So, is this the start of a new indie game trend?

Unlikely, since World of Goo was offered the same way earlier this year...

While intentional or not, the developer has a nice sense of humor. Check out the features listed for Irukandji:

* Cool procedurally animated sea monsters!
* 6 unique ships to unlock
* Score attack gameplay
* Online scores for each ship
* 10 challenging achievements
* Giant enemy Crab!

I love these "name your own price" indie sales. Donated $2.

That's kinda what I meant heh. With this and the Immortal Defense game devs doing the same thing now.

I guess only 2 more games doing it wouldn't really be a trend though...

Fighting a Giant Enemy Crab is worth the purchase alone.

Bullet Candy is only worth getting if you have a controller as it's a twin stick shooter. Good game though it does get a bit tedious.

Irukandji is pretty cool though very short. Its a single stage bullet hell shmup (it's an easy bullet hell game) with a lot of bloom effect. Pretty fun and the ships are all quite unique from each other.

Worth a buck a piece but I wouldn't say much more than that. Really cool what is there but there isn't much there in the first place. Think of them more as distractions than actual games

I'm starting to see this trend more often now. I think it's really beneficial to a lot of ppl like myself.

Saw the videos on the site and liked what I saw. For $1 it seems worth it.

Repetition in a game is NOT a bad thing, almost all games are repetitive. What matters is if YOU enjoy the game, then the repetition becomes enjoyable and doesn't feel monotonous or boring.

One does not a trend make.
