good now if only they could go back in time and cancel spiderman 2. the series could use a reboot with a new cast maybe go the ultimate spiderman route but they should really find someone young to be a teenage peter for at least 2 flicks. now if they go for the traditional spiderman series i hope they use kraven the hunter because that storyline is too good to pass up.

A reboot with a younger story arch would be nice. I agree with getting someone youngish to play Peter Parker in high school. I'd love to see a Batman Begins beginning for a rebooted Spiderman.

That blows. Here I was hoping for the natural segue from the Emo-Parker in SM3 to gay porn. Maybe even get Schumacher to direct.

Now we just need the WoW movie to get canceled so Sam Raimi can finally make Evil Dead IV.

Hmmm...I was just reading today that John Malcovich was gonna be the Vulture. Oh well, another crappy movie gone to make way for some good ones!

Was it actually canceled? Last I heard it was just stuck in limbo because Raimi was being strongarmed about whatever shitty script variant Sony wanted to go with.

Raimi has too much on his plate anyway. Spider-Man, that Leged of the Seeker show (is that still in production?) and now Spartacus on Starz.

Spider-man 3 was a let down, but still enjoyable--a few corny segments aside. I really love the first 2 movies.

So I'd be disappointed to see it canceled. I like the series with Raimi directing and Maguire as Parker, and would like to see it continue assuming they can do better than the 3rd one and get it back on track.

I don't mind as long as the next one is better than Spiderman 3. I just hope they don't reboot every time they change cast members. I can see Spiderman becoming like James Bond, every few movies they change the cast, but that way they can keep doing new stories instead of the same origin story every other movie.

Seems so. He quit, and they (Sony I think) are doing a younger version. First-ish story on io9.com.

Fuck Sam Raimi. We would've had a goddamn Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, but instead he realized there was still money and a strong fanbase for Evil Dead and helped stop it so he could allegedly try and do a remake and a direct sequel (which of course never happend). Plus after Spider-man 3 you can tell Tobey is tired of the damn role and Kirsten Dunst has always been terrible.

Now where's that gif of Tobey doing jazz hands and sending gust of wind through Gwen Stacy's hair as he's dancing.

Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was the worst movie idea ever and I'm glad it got canned. They would have soiled Ash's name.

Anyway, the story for the reboot sounds awful. Just stop. End Spiderman on the low note that was Spiderman 3.

I have to say I liked the first 2 and could live with the last one but they killed Venom. That should have never happend.

I find it fucking lame that Spider-Man is being rebooted and that we'll see Peter Parker back in high school. Sony, you pricks! I'd rather look forward to an uber 3 hour extended cut of Spider-Man 3 than this bullfuck :bomb:!

1) Good.

2) A reboot already? I certainly wouldn't pay money to see that.

3) They fucked Venom up, the wasted Dr. Octopus. I'm happy they can't do more damage to it.

4) I thought Spider-Man 1 was going to be the worst thing ever made. It totally blew me away, Goblin costume aside. Happy to have that one movie, the rest of it all sucked.

This is some of the best news I've heard.
I hated Toby Maguire I thought he was one of the worst picks to play Spiderman.
Spiderman 3 was one of the worst movies I've seen in a while, after it I wanted the whole series to just end.

I'm not a huge fan of Spiderman but to me everything was done wrong in the Spiderman movies. Bad casting, bad story, the only think I liked was Sam Raimi directing the first 2 and Bruce Campbell's cameos.

An Ultimate Spiderman style movie would be pretty good.

why do a reboot. Sorry I really like Spiderman but the origin story isn't that great, I have no need to see it done again. Spiderman 1 did a good enough job of parker in HS.

I would like to see something more adult done with Spiderman like was done with Batman. Kraven's last hunt or the Death of Jean DeWolff could make a good plot.

you could get around that by using a quick flashback moreover than that the spiderman origin is so widely known you dont need to do an origin story for it.

start the movie with some action bits do one of those pause moment where he starts doing an internal monologue/narrative toss in a few scenes of his being bullied, the spiderbite, the uncle dying power/responsibility blah blah blah just another day for your friendly neighborhood spiderman go back to action.

i also hope whoever the new spiderman will be is someone who enjoys his work. i dont want to play another spiderman game where the main character sounds bored and drugged up when hes reading his lines.

Spider-Man 3 was an embarrassment, so I'm not surprised. A lulzy as hell embarrassment, but an embarrassment nonetheless.
RIP Hiroshi Yamauchi

This is the greatest thing ever. Certainly in the OTT at least.

Studios wanted multiple villians, Raimi and Toby wanted one.

Don't rejoice - I get the sense that we're in store for a bunch of corny-ass Spiderman movies similar to the Joel Schumacher Batman flicks.

This all the way.

Maguire was a terrible Peter Parker. He turned the wisecracking Webhead into an emo kid who complained throughout all three movies. I'm glad the movie was canceled. Spider-Man 3 was a travesty and a joke.

This. Hope you enjoyed all those "Vultress" rumors, because that's what you're gonna get now.

I agree with most you guys spiderman 3 was horrible. The story was all over the place. There was no reason to put multiple villains in one movie. They really didn't do venom justice in that movie. Although I thought that the first two were pretty good. correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't peter Parker in high school in the first one?

It was Sam Raimi I believe who wanted a Vulture and a Vulturess character. Same with two red headed twins. So without him, who knows.

Raimi didn't even wanna include Venom in the third movie since he's not a fan of the character, but thanks to executive meddling, he was forced to shoehorn him into the plot against his wishes, so if you wanna blame anyone for Spidey 3, blame the suits.

I honestly enjoyed Spidey 3 in the same way I enjoy the first live-action Street Fighter movie: I just treat it like an accidental comedy.

The worst thing about the 3 movies was having to watch Snaggletooth be treated as the end all to be all.

Personally, I wish Disney could just reel in all of the Marvel film licenses, so that they can connect to main Marvel movie line (Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Thor, etc.). Not in blatent ways, like having some ultimate team up thing (Though my inner geek thinks that would be super-mega-rad!), but it would be cool if we could see something like Tony Stark having a quick conversation with Reed Richards, or maybe see a news report on Spider-Man in the background of a scene. Just little things to make all the movies feel like they're taking place in a cohesive universe.

Also, on the subject of multiple villains in a movie, I always wish they could handle it more sensibly. I'd like to have seen something like this in one of the Spidey sequels: Movie starts in the middle of some sort of robbery being led by a thug-type villain, like Electro, Vulture, or Shocker. One of those villains that really couldn't carry a full film, but would be fun to see. Spidey swings in, there's a brief fight, and the villain ends up webbed to a wall, or hanging from a lamp post. Spidey swings away, main title comes up, and then we move into the main plot with whatever mastermind villain taking the spotlight. That way, we get to introduce other villains into the Spidey-verse without having to waste the whole movie on them. It would have been a great way to build up to a Sinister Six movie. Oh well.
