Captain Dynamite and the Fallen Hero is an audio game -- like a video game, but without the visuals (it does have a couple animated logos, but that's it). It's essentially a radio drama about heroes and villains, with rhythm gameplay during the action scenes. It's similar to Space Channel 5, but audio-only and with a larger emphasis on story. The game is meant to be an unconventional and exciting experience for sighted players, and it's also 100% accessible to the blind.
It's still in development and not available for sale yet, but I wanted to go ahead and introduce it. The game is nearly functionally complete, but only the first quarter of the story and gameplay events are done so far. I submitted a demo version to the 2011 Independent Games Festival, which is kind of like the Sundance Film Festival but for independent games instead of movies. The results just came in and it wasn't chosen as a finalist, but I plan to submit again next year with the final version of the game.
The game is being developed as an Xbox Live Indie Game and is planned for release sometime this Spring (2011). After the Xbox version is complete, I plan to port it to iPhone and PC.
I made a recording of the demo version, split it into multiple files, and posted them to YouTube. Take a listen if you're interested, and feel free to post if you have any feedback. Thanks!
