Good price but I would advise against buying this vanilla version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 releasing on Nov 15th for $39.99.

OP the $24.99 price is also applicable to the 360 version if you wanna change the title of the thread

Dude don't compare prices for used rental copies with brand new ones.

I hear Blockbuster has them on sale for their B1G1 sale. Of course, they're used, but you should check it out.

I think you just have to click on the edit button and then look for a link for "advanced" editing.

Pointless to buy this when the Ultimate version is around the corner.

True. But just wanted to share to those that haven't played "vanilla" and to those that are collecting video games as well. Isn't that what were all here for? :D

As someone with 200+ hours of logged online matches, if you are looking to pick up UMvC3 and haven't played Vanilla, do yourself a favor and learn the system now.

It's getting a HUD update, new characters and balances, but the general system will be the same.

Look up "Magic Series" to understand more on how the combo system works in MvC3.

also, as always for fighting games, www.shoryuken.com for your "competitive edge" via the forums.

A vanilla version refers to the original or plain version, something without any of the extras.

Will there be separate set of trophies for the Ultimate version?

I would assume so, since Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4 each had 1,000 points.

This release also mirrors SSF4's exactly. Original game (Vanilla) was a standard 59.99 release, with the new version (Super / Ultimate) being 39.99 at launch.

Maybe... but I'm considering buying this for my son to play around with. I'm hoping to get this version for $15 or so once the Ultimate version actually comes out. He will never play online and he will most likely just play in "practice mode" button mashing against no one so this will be perfect for him.

Just bear in mind you'll hear a fair amount of "I'm the ghost of Christmas Kick Your Ass" and "You are the Ass kickee, I am the Ass Kicker" and such.

FYI Jill and Shuma DLC will carry over. Not worth buying it though just wait. Now if only marvel would release the anti-venom or venom (brock) license to capcom I would be happy.

And Taskmaster. It is rated T for Teen after all.

It's not crazy bad language wise (considering it's a game entirely based around hitting and shooting each other) but I wouldn't have a little kid playing it. But that's me. I know parents who have 7 year olds playing CoD.

This line was perfect for Deadpool, i cracked up the first time i heard that, but back on topic I would be in for one if this was the Special edition, considering that has some swag to it and im a chump for that kinda crap
