As stated on Rock Band, Harmonix will no longer after April 2nd release DLC for Rock Band. Now, why would I post this under video game deals because it is official that the 50% off on pre-RB3 DLC will be still in effect in other words, the deal has been upgraded to forever!

http://www.rockband....ad.php?t=233673

Update: Through their Twitter account, Rock Band commented that RBN will continue on the Xbox 360 but not on the PS3.

I don't see where it says forever. It just says they're going to continue it.

Well, they said ongoing which is forever because Harmonix had made a huge profit from DLC songs before RB3. By having this sale, Harmonix wants players that haven't own DLC songs can start here and also they would want to get people to purchase the newest DLC.

Sweet! I'm saving this post and coming back when I'm 80 and seeing if this is still available. I will leave Microsoft points in my will to my grandchildren so they can partake of this deal when they grow old and retire.

While the sale continuing is good news, this is a bummer that the weekly releases are coming to an end! I really hope they will release an occasional track pack every now and then!

Obligatory message of hope that they will finally, finally put the Beatles stuff on sale.

I think that the Beatles music DLC would be a good idea. It would give Harmonix a chance to reward gamers that are loyal to the game and renew interest once again with the series

I just wish they'd offer up the rest of the Beatles catalog for The Beatles: Rock Band.

Rock Band Network was a way for independent musicians to write their own charts for their songs and sell them through Rock Band as DLC. So, it's just DLC not made by Harmonix.

And just the new DLC releases are ending. You can still buy them, there just won't be any new ones.

Hopefully RB3 DLC drops in price after a while.
What I really want to see is the export fees drop, but there are more than likely licensing issues that would arise and prevent that. I would love to finally import Green Day, Lego, and RB2 in for a cheaper price though.

I wish they would let us export RB3, so I could play those tracks in Blitz.

In an interview with the Harmonix guys they said forever, they also said American Pie by Don McLean would be the last song.
Seems fitting.
The day the music died.

This will never happen because the licensing fee would be enormous.

The RBN infrastructure was created and released on the Xbox platform so the only "vehicle" for delivering RBN content to PS3 users was the Harmonix weekly DLC mechanism.

Since that ends tomorrow, so does RBN content to PS# users. They are doing a bonus besides the 5 regular RBN songs by adding 5 X2 Bass songs for tomorrow's last RBN release on the PS3.

Bummer about the end to DLC:cry:

There was also RBN tracks for Wii but due to constraints they ended in Dec 31, 2011
