I.Q. Mania (Asian) - $16.90

I don't know much about the Intelligent Qube series, but this is apparently a very good deal for you puzzle fans.

Here's IGN's description:

This full re-creation of the classic Intelligent Qube franchise features everything from the series so far as well as some new content. The PSP game includes 100 ATTACK modes, plus I.Q, I.Q Final, and I.Q REMIX + stages -- over 7000 levels in total. Also features ad-hoc multiplayer play and a new "SURVIVAL" mode.

As a bonus encouragement for playing with others, SCE has included a special feature that allows it to play in multiplayer with owners of this game as well as XI Coliseum and Bakufuu Sentai Bombermen (all three feature the multiplayer modes of each other.) In addition, there is a demo of the other two games and an extra set of multiplayer minigames (including a five-player bowling game plus Kunoichi Densetsu, Double Smash , N.U.M. and Party x Party x Party).

Yeah, I've got this for PSP. Pretty much the same as the original except you can choose different characters and a few other little things. Buy it. It's only $20 shipped.

You're thinking of PQ.

Anyone have a PA coupon they'd graciously loan?

On what planet?

Intelligent Qube is an early release PS1 (1997, after the long-box was dropped) that can be found nowhere. It had a limited print run in the US, was never reprinted, and was a commercial failure.

I. Q. Final (Kurushi Final) never made it to the US, featuring a JP, Asia, and PAL release.

I.Q. Remix for PS2 was a JP launch title and was never considered for a US release.

What about PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient? Is that a similar game or a completely different series? I'm just wondering because it's $14.90...

Tokobot is only $12.90... hmm.. tempting...

Stay far away from PQ. It's a distant backwoods cousin of the IQ series that was spawned in an evil bizarro land where moving boxes over and over again was apparently more fun than repeatedly sticking yourself in the ass with red hot pokers. Either that or they couldn't get a publisher for the red hot ass-poking game so they just put this crap out in hopes that people who liked IQ (me) would buy it hoping that it would provide an ounce of fun. It doesn't.

Heh, thanks for the warning shipwreck. I ordered I.Q. Mania. I really like puzzle games so hopefully I will like this one (I'm new to the series). $20 isn't too bad and it will be my first PSP game since Burnout Legends - almost a year!

I just started tinkering with my PSP again after a GBA/DS obsession that lasted pretty much all year so far. I still have a v1.5 so I loaded DevHook .46 on there as well as a bunch of NES games. I haven't been able to go online with it yet but I'm still learning... it's hard to keep up with all the hacks...

Can anyone confirm if the game includes English? If it does I think I am going to get this since the chances of it coming over here may be small.

There's really no language barrier on something like this as it's a puzzle game. I'm not sure if the menus are in English or not, but even if they are not, it shouldn't be too difficult to navigate them.

Yeah, that is kind of what I was thinking so I ordered it. Although I am kind of anal about being able to read what is on screen. Oh well, my first import.Thanks.

I was wondering if these games were similar as well. I bit on this anyway since I've heard a lot about that original game, even though I don't know when I'll get to playing it.

Yeah, it has been a while since I played this but I'm pretty sure most of the menus are in English. Might be some Japanese in there but I didn't have any problems playing it from what I remember.
