I see old Blizzard stuff at Goodwill all the time. In fact, that's mostly what I see when it comes to PC games, so I just assume it's assholes redeeming online codes and not doing the honorable thing of throwing it away once it's used.
so where was d3 for 3$?

I think it is smart for those getting Division on the consoles...since that Season pass is garbage IMHO. I will likely play it to completion and trade it in while it's still worth $25-$30.
I wont make the same mistake as Evolve and I still have that stinker on my shelve though it's likely going to Goodwill soon.
Or you could just get it for 30$ on pc, price is a wash and you get much better controls and graphics, and you dont have to deal with trading cereal box tops in order to trade it in or whatever other crazy crap is involved with consoles

I've been playing Batman Origins and the Division beta and the D-Pad on my 360 controller is just really bugging me. aka too much fight to get the diagonal option selected.
I know the normal Xbone controller is an improvement on this, and that I want one with a 3.5 MM mic jack for the upgraded shoulder buttons, so its likely all I need... but I'm worried as soon as I buy MS is going to release Elite software for Win 7/8.1, cause you know... My luck in all.
Just to confirm: You're playing Elite: Dangerous on the Xbone or Windows 10 and not windows 7/8.1, correct?
Right, xbone on win10 with ED. I usually swap between my hotas and the xbone since interdiction is 100x easier on a controller than on a joystick
I would say that would definitely be one downside on moving from a 360 to a standard xbone would be the loss of the 3.5mm if you happen to use it since then you need to buy another adapter. Of course the elite doesnt have that issue, but I havent tried using its own 3.5mm jack since the one we got came with a headset that plugged in to the entire bottom of the controller and gives vol+mute controls, even then I have another headset I normally use anyway
after looking around it looks like MS released a newer version of the standard xbone this summer that also had a 3.5mm jack. However the one I got this christmas didnt have the jack. So you may have to do some digging to make sure you get a controller that has one and not some backstock of the older version

Good info to know! (Though USB ports are rather durable and using one for a controller isn't a big deal... Unless you're clumsy, stupid, or both.)
Edit: Apparently you are on to something... Its not the USB port on the PC that has issues its the Micro USB port on the controller that's the weak link.
I suspect its good for other things (don't own one) but, yeah, the controller is no doubt a highlight. I game with a regular wired xbox 360 controller but I'm considering an upgrade as its far from new.
My only hangup on this deal is the new Elite Controller... Its really shiny, looks like a serious upgrade, and did I mention its really shiny? That said I'm not sure which is the bigger hangup... The price or what looks like a Window 10 requirement. (Who am I kidding...? The Windows 10 requirement. I got no desire to upgrade to it at this time.)
I've sort of looked around for info on seeing if one can bypass that requirement but so far no real luck on finding solid info on it being able to do. (If anyone's got links/experience otherwise I would love to see or hear it.)
Owning an elite (that I got for free from work, huzzah nice bosses) it is a nice controller. Its not 150$ nice though. It does have a nice weight to it, the rubberized grips feel great, and being able to switch to hair triggers is a nice option. Overall its a nice upgrade to the standard xbone, but it aint a 100$ premium nice
I remapped the paddles on the back to be bumpers and triggers, but really I almost never use them. They are slightly useful in Elite Dangerous for instance just because using bumpers always felt awkward to me, but having my fingers rest on them always makes me weary that Im going to accidentally trigger them. By default they are mapped to the standard a/x/b/y and I cant really imagine using those paddles for the main buttons. I guess with some practice someone could but I dont see the advantage
The replacement sticks and pads are a nice touch, but unless your a fighting game addict that needs those sorts of things you probably wont even use them

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is arguably the peak of all manage something type of games. I think it capped at 800x600 so YMMV on how much enjoyment you can get out of fighting past it's age.
You can get the openrct opensource add-on for rct2:
Basically brings it up to more modern usage with window/full at 1920, all sorts of extras added and easy access to downloadable add-on content
forgot thats the old site and they moved everything over to

My PC is only a few years old but I don't think having more than 2 USB 3.0 ports is common. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd imagine most mainstream rigs probably have a minimum of one. But even higher end PCs probably won't have it. You have to purchase a USB 3.0 PCB to even plug it in. And that's all assuming you have a above average PC and graphics card.
Even that may be a drop in the bucket to the price of the actual headset.
starting with the z77 chipset usb3 became very common, 4 usb3 ports, and z77 came out in 2012. Z97 went up to 6+ the next year.
Previous to that though was z68, which is what I have with my 2600k. Z68 did not have standard usb3 support in the chipset, so those boards like mine, are rated as incompatible. I have usb3 but its from a third party usb3 chipset built in to the motherboard and it can be flaky, plus all my usb3(all 2 of them) ports are in use which is why it may have been rated that way as well

The one thing with uplay is prices for ubi games will usually be found cheaper from third parties first for uplay, i.e. 15$ crew complete from amazon, 30$ rainbow 6 siege, 30$ far cry primal, 20$ ac syndicate, 30$ division, etc etc
Of course steam will eventually hit those prices and lower, but uplay will get lower first

Youch...that looks complicated to me; maybe it's not tho.
Here is what I use : https://elitepve.com...36f512491fb0caf
I just wasnt a fan of having 3 separate shift buttons. I much preferred single shift to get to one off functions or rarely used ones, and everything else easily accessed. After using it for a day or two its pretty intuitive. That and the creator had .binds files on his site, just had to fix 2 bindings that were way out of whack and it was ready to go
