After about 37 hours or so, AC: Syndicate [base-game] is now in the books as completed. Loved it. Best one since AC4: Black Flag.

While I did not finish AC: Unity and will eventually later return to that, whenever the hell that might be - and I likely will much sooner return to Syndicate for more side-stuff and especially for Jack The Ripper DLC, for that matter - I need a AC break, for a short amount of time, at least.

Jesus, what a fucking boring Super Bowl.

The real Super Bowl already happened, a few weeks ago - Pats vs. Denver AFC Game.

Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin (full, not upgrade) is $12.51 at Gamebillet (who?) after using the code WINTERSALE

https://www.gamebill...-first-sin.html

You have to go through their 'UK' site but the price is in dollars and there's no Euro region lock for the game in the Steam DB so it should activate fine.

AFAIK this is the lowest the full version has been, though I know the upgrade has been cheap.

Hey, this here is the Steam Off-Topic Thread!

Steam Deals go in this thread below:

:)

EDIT:

Bleh @ Carolina missing that field goal.

That penalty didn't help matters for that FG attempt.

Denver moving the ball again.

PC retail box = $57.64

EDIT:

10-7 Denver.

13-7 now.

Denver with the ball and moving it.

Bleh @ that nice strip/sack by Denver for a TD.

Give credit where it's due.

So here I am having gamed nothing all weekend.  Oh well.  Maybe the game will be good and if not I might just follow Bah's lead and game a little then.

It's been mostly a AC: Syndicate weekend for me, gaming-wise.

WWE 2K16 comes for PC in March. Seems just like how they did with 2K15 PC release.

giphy.gif

EDIT:

Hopefully they don't do anything odd with the DLC this time. They didn't include Paige in the PC release of WWE 2K15 because she was exclusive to the season pass, and you couldn't get the season pass on PC because all the DLC was already in the game. Except Paige. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

I hope so w/ them not doing weird stuff on content-nonsense like that, as well.

But, there are plenty of mods on 2K15 to get CAW Divas into the game; Paige into the game; and other things for modding purpose - if you want to go through all the modding to do so. Check 2K Forums and Smacktalks, for way more details on how to go through the modding process.

Granted, I been really lazy and ain't done so w/ modding. [shrug]

Despite WWE 2K15 PC not being perfect + not having the entire kitchen sink for a roster, match-types, and CAW Divas out-the-box - I really do love the game. Always seem to get a match in - when I need break from other games, got a little bit of time, or lots of time on my hands. Universe Mode for me just feels endless.

And hopefully - with WWE2K16 PC, it comes right-out-the-gate as a Complete Edition at typical MSRP pricing for a base-game ($40-60) but instead also with all the DLC's/Season Pass content for FREE; no matter whether they decide to release it out-right from the release or patch it in later for FREE like they did with 2K15.

Just watching at home.

Same here.

Anyone but Denver!!

I have to pick who I feel is the lesser of two evils on this one, unfortunately - i.e. Panthers.

In a sense, would be nice for Peyton who is a great QB to have another ring so he ain't over-shadowed by his not-as-great QB brother Eli that has 2 rings (both wins at SB over the Pats) - but meh, Peyton and Denver are still rivals to Pats.

So, meh - he can lose what probably will be his "last rodeo".

I was thinking of picking up Galactic Civilizations III for $13.59.

I was thinking of passing and skipping on that "deal."

What happened to the Steam Off Topic thread?

Isn't that the other Steam Thread that's buried somewhere in one of the other (non-deal) sub-forums?

EDIT:

I thought someone made one but I can't find it :(  Wanted to ask what you guys were doing for the superbowl.

I only have like three or four "AAA games" listed anyway (and I can ditch AC:Syn since I have it on Uplay now).

So far, I think AC: Syn is the best AC game since AC4: Black Flag.

Just finished Sequence #8. Can't stop playing this one.

Same thing on Amazon but for ~$900 + tax.

But, I really want that backpack in the NewEgg version!

Oh, and also Rise of the Tomb Raider PC game-key!

I think this illustrates perfectly the reason most people prefer to do DIY builds these days: choice.

I can choose to skimp on the case and get a better gfx card or processor. Maybe I can do a cheaper mobo because I'm not going to run SLI but I can buy a power supply that won't melt my rig and will allow me more overhead for over clocks. Self builds aren't the crazy value proposition they used to be 10 years ago where you could save hundreds just for socketing and plugging things in yourself (although we did have to decipher jumper positions with shitty documentation and next to nothing on the Internet for help, which sucked) but they are awesome for being able to choose what you want.

Yep, that's why I'll next go around likely go DIY again: choice. I can make all kinds of choices on what to skimp on; what not to skimp on; take advantage of getting parts in killer sales; and things of that sort. From early January 2011 to May 2011, I was doing the part round-up for my (then) new rig, which I wanted ready-to-go by Witcher 2 release-day. Some of the fun for me back when deciding to put my rig together in 2011 was to just get the parts I really wanted or ones very close that I would settle on b/c of the catching killer deals from hawk-watching of them on NewEgg, TigerDirect, MicroCenter, etc.

Since I'm bored and like to restart old arguments, I saw this on sale on Newegg for $950:

ASUS ROG G20AJ-US009S Desktop PC, Intel Core i7 4790 + Gaming Bundle

I won't link since Newegg links never work.  I took the lowest price for parts on Newegg and came with $720.  So that's a $230 difference.

I do think that's a little low.  I assumed the cheapest 760 and cheapest ASUS mobo.  I also did a cheap price for the case, but a case like that would probably be a bit more.

There is a mark up, but it's not insane.  Now I do think for the money you could get a better GFX card, but it's not like they are charging a 100% markup on things.

Seems like a decent start for the non-DIY that wants to have the PC all done in one clip, pretty much.

One could always upgrade PSU, video card & RAM later - but those parts in there should probably suffice fine, for now.

Certainly sounds better than that Alienware Box.

Also Xcom2 is a horrible mess...so many glitches I have run into.

Great game, just glitchy as all hell.

Most recent one: Shooting the wrong, non selected target.

So basically - buy now to Beta Test a buggy, glitchy + incomplete game that'll likely have a good deal of DLC's and/or expansions later!!!

Amirite?
