    CAGcast #401: Who SCARTed?

That's crazy talk, Wombat. Your examples are still brand new movies. They require directors, writers, costume designers, sound designers, actors, cameramen, sets, computer graphics, etc. Remastering games is mostly a matter of going back to assets that already exist and cleaning them up to look...

    CAGcast #401: Who SCARTed?

This is where I can't agree. A remastered game doesn't tie up creative resources for new games any more than a remastered DVD does for new films. The developers that do these ports are usually production houses that specialize in this sort of job. For example, Final Fantasy 10 was done by...

    CAGcast #401: Who SCARTed?

Your Spielberg analogy doesn't make any sense. The creative teams who make the original games are not the same people who port those games to a new system. Remaster projects are typically outsourced to firms that specialize in that sort of project. Production on Halo 5 didn't stop while the...

    CAGcast #401: Who SCARTed?

Sure, but as they say, correlation does not imply causation. High profile games aren't being delayed because of these rereleases, we're just seeing more rereleases because high profile games cost increasingly more time and money to make, and big companies have gaps to fill in their revenue streams.

    CAGcast #401: Who SCARTed?

I don't understand all the bitching about old games being re-released on new consoles. Did anyone bitch when the Godfather was released on DVD? Or again on BluRay? They even charged full price for it. What's the difference? If good, older games are easier to play and look better on the hardware...

CAGcast #352: Nothing Like Tony Hawk

The ad buy talk was surprisingly engaging and interesting. It's great to hear you guys talk about something you know a lot about, rather than just talking out of your asses like usual, although that's part of why I listen in the first place. As an Xbox One owner, I really, really hope Shipwreck...

CAGcast #347: How to Avoid Back Pain and Disgust People

Following will put them into your races quite a lot. They may see your Drivatar from time to time, but not nearly with the frequency that you see theirs.

    CAGcast #346: Forza No Moreza

BREAKING: CheapyD pulls a Microsoft, reverses Forza 5 boycott policy. Let us never forget his noble six day stand against macro-transactions. (He just popped up in my XBox One activity feed.)

    CAGcast #346: Forza No Moreza

So today, after playing Forza 5 for about 8 hours total, I learned about the Rewards bonuses run through the Forza website. As far as this type of thing goes, it's a fairly pain-free system (for a counter example, see Uplay). Between this, the standard credit rewards that increase as you rank...

    CAGcast #346: Forza No Moreza

I dunno if they're exactly "optimized." The quick select is not well implemented, and I would much, much prefer digital control for Link instead of the finicky analog pad, or the option to do so. Of course, since it's a Nintendo game, customizing that sort of thing is entirely out of the...

    CAGcast #346: Forza No Moreza

I understand why folks are upset about Forza 5, but I'm not really upset by the changes. I'm going to sound like an apologist, but whatever, I enjoy the game. Not as much as 4 or Horizon, but still loving it. I do think that the game's economy needed to be scaled back from Forza 4. Did they...
