I would even go so far as to say that everything in those Prima strategy guides are outdated. Most of those books are written for when the game first comes out.

I was a huge fan of Baldur's Gate, and I enjoy tinkering around with the D&D 2/3 & 3.5 ruleset, but I was turned off of Neverwinter Nights. It just didn't capture me with it's storyline. Then again, I played for only a few hours before I turned it off.
Icewind Dale II is more of a action-packed...
They only increase based on your level. The game can become really difficult if you put all the skills you want to max out immediately in your MAJOR skills. My character, I'm a huge fan of using alchemy, and I want to max it out to create super-powerful potions. I would keep it as a minor skill...
