As stated before, do what you want. I'm just giving you a perspective from the inside. And hey, if you want to come at me with any kind of hostility, get fucked, will ya'?
No. So says the person with common sense.
I could have easily left out the fact that I'm an employee. I didn't. The truth is I'm bored with a case of slight insomnia and killing time. I happened to see this thread here and I figured I'd warn all you nice folks before you waste your time...
I don't know how you possibly came up with those search results as "toys." Just go to the front page and click the "Toys and Kids Electronics." Those are "toys." No video games/systems in sight.
I work for Best Buy and I would never honor that on any system or game. It's a cut and dry case...
We've had a lot of unopened returned PS3s since christmas at my Best Buy. It's obvious that these people just bought them to sell them, and since they're not worth dick anymore, they just return them.
And yes, we have had PS3's in stock. They just came out in today's ad so we had to hold them...
Best Buy's corporate stance is that if an employee wants a PS3 or a Wii then you have to wait in line like everyone else. I'm sure that employees at some stores will try to pull a fast one, but knowing their extremely tight policy compliance cheating will be VERY limited. There's no doubt in...
Trust me, your average EB/GS manager isn't that concerned with return business. Their standards have slipped more and more over the years. (the game has become more about low salaries and less about quality performance)

Oh, and there have been reports of swapping the PS3 hard drive....although I'm unsure of how easily this is done. In any case it HAS been...
It's not an "empty threat." You could easily wait at another store besides EB/GS. This has nothing to do with Sony and everything to do with the shady practices of EB/GS. If you haven't already, please read my post on page six of this thread.
Just a quick overview of what you can do to increase your chances of not getting fucked on launch day:
-Pay the system off in full
-Pre-order as many games and accessories as you can (you don't have to actually pick them up with your system, just cancel them later)
-Try like hell to make a...
Just an excerpt from my unintelligible rant posted on Gamespot:
Firstly, don't feel bad for the EB/GS employees. They'll most likely get their systems. (we were supposed to give up our 360's, but were instead given them and told to keep quiet)
Secondly, this is nothing new. EB/GS dropped the...
