i was lucky enough to get the bbc version at my local BB before they shipped them off...they price matched from my receipt from discovery.com. so i own and have watched both versions on my a-35 on a 46" 1080p lcd, and there is a good difference in video quality... i dont really care who narrates...
i just told you that bonus was on standard dvd's only..
also, the US version is 120 minutes shorter..period, than the BBC version..and they didnt put the bonus features because there is no room for it after putting the HD footage on their dvd30 discs.
my best buy only got rid of their HD DVD's a few days ago..so I got the Planet Earth HD DVD BBC version at BB for $33, qnd US version for $24.99 shipped from discoverystore.com. THe bonus features are only on the standard dvd, there is no room left to put them on HD DVD or Blu-ray versions.

I hit the jackpot today for some HD DVD's! Went to my local CC and asked them to PM their website and then add the 50% off..it was a no go.. But I asked them to scan a few to see what the prices were and I got lucky with two:)

It was already in the adds a few weeks ago when it came out on Blu-ray, as they were all supposed to come out together...which they didnt. My local BB still has all their HD DVD's on the racks and told me they were still getting the I am legend HD DVD on the 4th... We shall see..
