Since I originally posted the question I figure I should respond. While it's true that I didn't shell out $200 for it, I did spend about 100 hours to get the 55k points (I suck at typing :oP), which translate to something like $500 (assuming $5/hour, which is below minimum wage in CA). Also...

I ordered the XBox 360 a week ago (I know it's a lot of points but I have everything else on that prize list already), and it came today. However, a quick check of the serial number shows that this was manufactured in 2006! Do you think that it's a refurb? How would you check to find out?
