Wow, no news for a while. I was hoping after Christmas they'd get back to working on the compatibility issue. I still can't play FFV on my Vita. Oh well.
It's not entirely related to this thread, though since I've seen nothing about it anywhere else I thought I'd point out that PlayStation Mobile is active on Vita--some of the games are Minis but some of them I haven't seen before.
There's even a new Beats app
It's not about what's compatible--I have Rival Schools on my Japanese PSN account and my Vita sees it fine, but it won't copy to my system as long as I have it set up through my US account. Worse, supposedly, Firmware 1.8 has removed the Vita's ability to have cards with different accounts, so...
In case this wasn't mentioned earlier, but most of us by know know about it: On the PSP side, you can map buttons to the four corners of the touch screen. Doesn't work as well as it should, though (what they show for you to touch seems much larger than what actually registers the touch).
Depends on the game--not all games supported the dual analog stick because it was a mid-gen addition (Tomb Raider doesn't, nor does Twisted Metal 2--I'm not sure any of the 9 Vita store offerings support it).
"PSP games on PSN store don't have online functionality. I wish I knew this before buying.I hope devs start publishing their games as PS Vita games instead of PSP. "
I'm not sure that's a Sony or a Vita issue; many of these games are old and the servers have been shut down by their owners...
This is hardly the disaster it appeared to be at first; just like with the PSP games at launch, most are downloadable and transferable using a PS3. Of the 66 PSOne games I own (I got a lot of free ones from PS+), 51 are confirmed to work at this moment, 15 are no-gos. Many of the ones that are...
"BTW, if I haven't said this before, a big thank you to everyone who's been updating the thread with their results, especially FriskyTanuki who's been pretty much the caretaker of this thread."
Here, here.
My PS3 is in hock right now, so right now I can only re-download using the download list. I can get Mega Man 1-4 and Castlevania Chronicles. It's probably too early to panic about this, since the store hasn't been updated yet (won't until Tuesday afternoon), but I thought we were done with this...
Well, in the last couple of days, the gaming news sites are saying "more than 100," which I guess is a confirmation that all of them will be made available.
I've heard conflicting reports on whether the firmware update will allow only 10 games or every game, with IGN sure that every game will be available and most everyone else saying we'll only get the ten. Personally, considering how long we've waited for it, it ought to be all of them at once.
