Classic compilation is an excellent deal. I really couldn't stomach the low resolutions when I tried playing a few of these games after the last GoG sale though.
It sounds like most of the driver problems have been fixed by now. ATI and Nvidia were pretty aggressive about getting new drivers out there. I think I am going to wait a bit for a sale/price drop though.

Sorry to anyone hoping for a 1:1 model, but I'm still really excited about the CE :D Hopefully Amazon...
I guess we'll see how quickly new content comes for LOTRO F2P, though I think that largely depends on how well it does for them. DDO was just updated last week with a new 5-quest adventure pack with a new outdoor zone, so they didn't just keep the updates flowing while they wanted to maintain...
This is kind of an uninformed opinion because you are completely ignoring their current F2P game. DDO had not gotten a major content update for quite a while before F2P, and now it's getting updates every month. The content updates for the game come faster and with more new stuff to do than at...
If you are past the point in the game where you need 5g, you have probably played enough that 3-4 bucks worth of points to remove the gold limit isn't unreasonable.
Keep in mind that the economy in LOTRO is much different than in WoW. My level 45 champion never had more than 3g on him at a time because 3g is a lot of money in LOTRO. I believe the limitation is mostly to hurt any exploiting the free-to-play model would allow for gold farmers and sellers, but...
If it's like DDO the only gear they will sell will be starter gear (stuff that is good for levels 1-10 or whatever but is then out-paced by normal items you get in-game), so nothing powerful. Certainly nothing that would cause an imbalance.
