The urban myths back in the day were that emulation for games you own is considered legal? I am currently drinking Coke and pop rocks, so i don't even know what to think anymore.

Feels like it's time to move on from the Retron5 and personally start using emulated ROMs for the games I own. So much less hardware and software licensing to worry about...

Point taken. Arrived with dead genesis and GBA slots. Can only confirm NES slot worked, no SNES or Famicom games to test with.

Kind of shocking, but this is still in stock at Thinkgeek.  Maybe there wasn't so much pent up demand as I thought?  Or maybe Thinkgeek has monopolized an entire shipment..

I had this service for about 6 weeks and probably had about 12 games/movies that whole time. Of those rentals, 4 were so scratched that they just stopped playing 3/4 of the way through. Nothing pisses your night away like getting into a movie and having it dump out with a read error too late...
