You could just modify your xbox and run an NES emulator on there. I believe they sell an NES controller to USB converter. With that, it would be just like playing a real NES.

I would just go used and make sure it does not have a thomson drive. Samsung is probably preferable, as it can read cd-r, but phillips are not bad either. You may come across one with an LG/Hitachi drive, which also seem to work well, although you can't really be sure how long it will last as...
