It took two rounds of emails, because originally the guy thanked me for my order and said that he appreciated my business, pointing out I paid with credit.
Luckily I saved the original email, so I shot off a second one, explaining the situation. The guy was more than nice enough and...
I emailed Amazon about it. Those of you who placed orders are fine, obviously.
Their rationale is that it worked like a coupon. They didn't put an expiration date on it, though, and after pointing this out I was able to get the $10 credit after sending in my order number.
Yeah, I can't complain too much. It's always a gamble, but Amazon's customer service as always is top notch. They paid for the shipping back with no hassle and gave me a $10 credit for my troubles. Got it back in the mail to them this morning.
Guess I'll just wait it out and hope to get a good...
Welp, my Like New copy of Final Fantasy XIII-2's collector's edition came in with two copies of Disc IV of the soundtrack! Great!
Back to Amazon it goes. Darn. :(
Oh I know, I pulled up some stuff with the sales associates on our phones to see what was unlocked without the pass and what not.
It would make sense to me if they decided to use the regular disc art to cut costs, I just wonder if the partially gold disc is rare or something.
E: I'm still...
Huh...that's strange. Guess one of those may have worked.
As I said, though, we booted on up in the store and things were locked. I wonder why Codemasters put out two types of discs in the first place?
To be honest I'm not sure, I haven't been trying to get that version. I did notice while one of the employees was digging through the discs that there were two versions for the 360 though (the regular disc and the gold one). So I'd assume so. Could have been that they just had Dirt 3 and Dirt 3...
Just a heads up to anyone that tries this, there seems to be a packaging error on Codemasters' end. I just went in and bought a new copy of the game at Gamestop, opened it right in front of them, and found it to be the regular game disc. We booted it up on a PS3 they had and it still had cars...
Yeah, I had the same problem as you argyle. Found one copy, got it for roughly $12 (between the coupon, the $2 off for PowerUp Rewards members) and brought it home. Opened it up and saw it was the regular Dirt 3 disc, checked on Youtube for an unboxing video, saw that the Complete Edition has a...
My Gamestop let me use a $10 PUR coupon on Rayman Origins today with no hassle at all. Seems that it doesn't matter with these promotions (at least in my area).
Really? That kind of blows. I have a $10 coupon that expires at the end of the month and I was planning on using it on tomorrow for Rayman Origins.
Now I don't know whether I should call or just go in. I'm afraid if I tip them off that it'll cause suspicion. :-k
E: The coupon does say that...
