Also...mining with grenades is a terrible idea that sounded great in my head. I'm pretty sure I blew up a cargo pod or something and that missing item haunts my dreams!

Not sure if you all know this or not but if you land on a landing pad it does not cost you any launching fuel to leave. I'm not sure if it costs any fuel to use those small docking towers or not though

It's funny you should say that. I now fly my ship to every mark in order to avoid having to walk back far. Especially if my inventory is nearly full

According to IGN you can make custom waypoints. I have no clue how to do it (nor does anyone else I've spoken to) but if you can figure that out you can make one at the start of the cave so you can find your way back lol

I haven't had this happen to me (yet) but I read that you can use grenades to blow up terrain so if you get stuck you can make your own door
