Welp, nothing today either. Guess I'll see what 13 holds and finally put my order in. Penguin Drum, Patlabor, and the Berserk movies are my definite pickups so far.
I agree, it has potential and I really liked the premise of the games and anime, but ultimately there are a lot of weird issues that hold it back from being as good as it could be, primarily the pacing and the structure, which works in same ways but really just turned me off due to how slow it...
That's being too kind...
Honestly, as far as Tenchi goes, the OVA is still pretty good I guess, but really it's very much a product of its time and is one of the most anime ass anime series. The Blu-ray of the OVA looks really nice and again it's worth looking into, but outside of that and the...
Man, these sales are getting worse and worse, at least for my interests. I think part of it is that the deals are a lot less impressive in the face of Amazon's low prices and constant sales. Here's hoping 11 and 12 are crazy good.
Guess I'll hold off on pulling the trigger on the stuff I want and just finish out a few more days, but this is just not a very good sale this year for me. Was really hoping for bigger discounts on Blu-ray upgrades on stuff like Patlabor, but it will have to do since I doubt they will get marked...
Eh, most NISA stuff is generally priced more than it could be, but it's still more reasonable than Aniplex. I've actually never seen Toradora, only read the first light novel a few years ago and kinda forget most of it other than thinking I'd like to check out more.
Hmmm, thanks for the heads up and if it wasn't a few bucks difference I would probably do a separate order, but I tend to just go with Right Stuf unless it's a difference of like $10 since I like how they pack stuff and the free shipping is fairly fast for me. I checked out the NISA holiday sale...
The price on the Golgo sets are good, but just keep in mind the Blu-rays have pretty weak picture quality and aren't really an upgrade from the DVDs, which I got in last year's sale. So far I have Penguin Drum, Patlabor, and Toradora in my cart, but I'll keep waiting another day or two before...
Basically, when you open it up each disc is held in place by little slits in the cardboard instead of like The Simpsons, which use normal plastic holders. And unlike a lot of cases where the disc is slid in, this stuff is really cheap and half of my discs were out of place from shipping. If I...
Okay cool, gonna go ahead and grab that too. Just waiting a few more days so I can do one big order. Honestly, my one hope is that Aniplex prices some stuff down a bit more, as Durarara is at a lower price of $130 (lol), but I would love for it to be lower so I can finally just buy it after...
Still waiting for something to really wow me, but Peguin Drum and the Berserk movies are definite pickups. Did they ever fix the audio issues for Kids on the Slope on the Japanese track?
Got my 6 seasons of The Simpsons and 4 of Futurama today. The cases for Futurama use these awful paper slits, but thankfully none of the marks on the disc look like they're serious.
