I tried this with a wireless guitar, not the same model you're talking about, and I would not recommend it at all. Just go grab a used PS3 one and save the headache.

While this won't net you the newest games, you can find some jewels out there still. I got Star Ocean on 360 and Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 for $16.71 after tax. Not a bad scoop. You never know what kind of hidden jewels you can find.
