actually there is a good reason. If you get parts from the same set, your ship's health increases, and you can get it up to eight hearts by finding the golden parts, but if you just keep the original parts it stay at four hearts and with all the enemies and pirates and the occasional mini-boss...

i can NOT get past the temple of the ocean king part 3...and jolene is so annoying! whenever i get a treasure map i can barely get to it cuz she always finds me, and i can barely shop at beedle's ship cuz she's always following beedle
