I should probably pick up Slayers S4-5 since I already have the S1-3 dvd collection.
I can't justify myself getting the Amazon Exclusive Cowboy Bebop set since I have the standard edition but I've been watching it... the price keeps dropping. It's at $65.49 now.
Yeah that's why I'd like to buy those Aniplex releases before they become OOP but it wouldn't be responsible of me to spend a whole $610 on anime in one month. I need to space out the purchases to fit my free-spending budget. My wallet is already hurting on account of the Fate/ Zero, Code geass...
This December, I plan on buying either the Gurren Lagann blu-ray volumes or one of the two Fate Stay/Night UBW sets. My question to you guys is, which do you think run a higher chance of becoming OOP first? I would hate for any of them to go OOP before I get a chance to buy them at retail...
It's fun to hate but there are good reasons why someone would prefer having the blu-rays over the dvds. For example: higher picture quality, scratch-resistant discs, clear case, and future proofing (resale value/unlikely 4k release).
I think the odds are pretty low. Aniplex of America tends to price their releases at about $10 an episode and I don't think they would put so many episodes onto 2 discs.
Thanks for the input, I figured I'd ask before I unwrap the set. It's not so bad now that I look at it again. It must've just been the first thing that caught my eye as I opened the box.
I got my copy of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Collector's Edition in the mail today from Righstuf and it has an ugly ding on it. I don't if I should ask for an exchange or just suck it up. It's really distracting to me.

I like Hunter X Hunter enough to want to buy a home video release but I'm also willing to wait as long as it takes for that eventual repackage. I don't want to end up getting burned like the people who bought Bleach sets when they were barely coming out.
When They Cry Kai Complete Collection Blu-Ray is on sale for $29.99 at the Sentai Filmworks store. If you add the code "WEEKEND25" the price drops to $22.5. Though shipping and handling kind of kills the deal, since the cheapest option is $7 priority mail, the price is still probably as low as...
Hope you haven't pulled the trigger yet. One of Amazon's gold box deals today is for up to 61% off of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Complete Collection: I and II and Steins Gate: The Complete Series. The FMAB sets are $27.49 and Stein's Gate is $23.99.
I've been lurking for awhile now and...
