Can anyone recommend some good adventure/rpg games for under 20 dollars right now? I'm looking through the eshop and there seems to be a lot of good sales but I'm not sure what to grab.

I think I would still prefer the US version with the purple switches.  That's what I remember growing up and I think I'd feel more connected to that design.

That's what my total came out to as well. I ended up cancelling my order because I'm not willing to pay that much and I only want one to keep for myself and actually use.
