You should not have a larger ping because of Wifi unless your internet connection is larger than 54Mbps transfer speed. You should not notice any difference in wifi or lan when accessing the internet. You will notice the difference if you are transfering files between computers.

That's not on clearance. That is the price you will find in most retail stores.
