They don't empty a gift card/trade amount put on a gift card/membership card. It's illegal to do that... The only thing they do is if you have Star Rewards points that have not been used 6 months AFTER the year-long membership has expired (you do not renew it)... at that time, do the points...

If you trade in 3 games at any one time, you get their Star Rewards membership for free. Since 99% of us will do that, it is basically free.

Every single one of those $1 games would have got you at minimum $3 at Rogers Plus... All 360, PS3, Wii have $3 minimum trade-in...
