Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

TIVs are being reevaluated before the 18th gold rush. Earlier this week. Spider-Man 2 could potentially get you $60; now, $50. Suicide Squad was also $60; now, "[n]o trade values could be found for this item." Metroid Prime Remastered dropped from $50 to $36...If you've been considering on buying games locally to flip or have already been doing so thus far, hold.
Wait Metroid Prime Remastered was trading in for $50? And $36 yesterday? I just looked and it's $18. We're those the base values or with freakish bumps? Ugh I need to pay more attention

No. No. Yes. Yes. And yes.

Edit: From my initial miscalculations (2x instead of 50%...), $50 was incorrectly to $25 base value, but the correct TIV multiplier (50% not 2x...) would've gotten you $37.50, but by the 18th onwards you'll potentially only get $27 from trading in Metroid Prime Remastered.

I think they were referring to the value after the 50% trade bonus for switch and ps5 games that starts next week. But if it's 18 now, then only 27 after bonus, unless pro adds another 10%. Trade values dropped so 50% bonus won't be that great for most games now anyway. Console values dropped more as well, last gen anyway and switch consoles.

EDIT: I see now, Metroid is $36.09 to purchase used pre-owned at gamestop

i think the person referring to the (theoretical) high trade in values is having a best buy 100% trade in boost flashback, or they don't realize 50% bonus is not double the listed TIV
The latter. And yes, math is extremely hard; hence, I work at fast food. Regardless...TIVs are dropping, and because 50% isn't the same as 2x (thank you sir...), I will definitely NOT be trading in any of my PS5/NSW collection let alone waste another $25 on an alt Pro account. The aspect of a gold rush suddenly became fool's gold. Gonna clear all the flipees on my OfferUp saved lists now.

yeah, honestly i dont think the values have dropped for the 50% yet, with some games still sitting at $35. i think there will be alot more drops sunday morning.

Dumped my doritos xsx for $325, all locked and loaded for Switch 2 now.

I haven't been up to date on a lot of this stuff in a while. I see GS is offering $275 +$50 TIC for my Series X. Would this be the best time to trade it in, or should I wait? I'm hoping to pre-order the Switch 2 once its get announced. I know Xbox has an podcast coming up? and I did see the xbox digital leak a while back. Just trying to maximize my TIC TBH.

I've seen several posts in this thread (besides your's) about pre-ordering the switch 2. Figured I missed the announcement. Nope.

I guess you can sit on credit for however long, in anticipation of pre-ordering the switch 2, but I wouldn't hold out hope that it comes out before GameStop goes belly up.

Everybody has been saying gamestop is going to go out of business soon for the last 5 years.

They are acting more and more like a company with cash flow issues. They are closing their East Coast warehouse in PA (leaving them only 1 warehouse in TX), this PA warehouse hasn’t even been open that long. They don’t ship new games (arguably their main business) to a store if nothing has been preordered. They keep laying people off in corporate, latest was a bunch of people who did refurbs and such on controllers.

If the latest Switch rumor is true and it is not coming out until Q1 2025, GameStop would have a rough holiday season this year. Nobody buys XBox physical, Sony doesn’t have anything 1st party for 2024 and people will hold off on Switch waiting for the 2.

Yeah I mean I'm not super optimistic about their future, but I just don't think they are going to go out of business in the next 12 months.

What’s concerning to me is that the executive team has stopped trying. No strategy or planning going on. They gave Cohen free range to invest company money in other random pursuits and stopped taking investor questions.

Not to mention Cohen’s vision seems to primarily be memes and trolling.

If prices are accurate, seems like Mario wonder will trade In for $56 after the 60% boost with pro
Yeah definitely trading mine in if that value holds. Looks like it's the only game with a $35 base too.
GS calculates final Pro TIV using the Regular Value Store credit with the promo multiplier (this makes Pro Value Store Credit obsolete...).

As of this time typing, Mario Wonder is $27 base; 60% nets you $16.20, so ya'll be getting $43.20.

Maybe less depending as Gamestop does pull the occasional "Surprise" without warning.

well, at least the 50% off is on the website, hopefully it will be working in stores because like strait edge said, more drops are bound to come. madden 24 on ps4 for $32.50 base after the super bowl is over is insane.

since best buy is slowly becoming less useful for gaming this would be a good time to use madden to transfer that $50 best buy credit thats been burning a hole in my pocket since Christmas lol

Made some trades and noticed some deep discounts on some used games. All the games that were on the 25/50/75 off tiers for months were converted from new to used. Picked up Tem Tem (PS5) for 9.99 and Them Fighting Herds (PS5) for $4.99. I spotted Redfall for $4.99 as well.

I recently bought some on the website but the used prices were higher than the new price. Anyway, all those discounted games were all used anyway. They were open to begin with.

TIV prices are tanking. My buddy just traded some games and console today. He sent me a copy of his receipt of what he got. Besides Mario Kart, everything else went down.PXL_20240219_211611905.MP.jpg
