Are there trade limits?

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Warehouse employees? Lol, this shit is all shipping from stores. The minimum wage single coverage guy is trying not to get robbed and got distracted and fucked up.
*warehouse AND store employees

There. If they tried sneaking in GPGs, as history have testified, what other scummy sly behavior could they not do?

At this point, if you order new from GS, you can't expect sealed games. The gutted copy is what you should anticipate. It's not a big deal to me because I intend to play the games and they're usually pretty solid deals. I can see how it may frustrate some, but this is a decades-long practice and well talked about among everyone at CAG; as such, at this point, who here doesn't know this is what they do on a routine basis?

If it bothers some so much, just return it. But stop complaining because it just isn't going to change. We're so past that now.

Put simply, buy new at GS with your eyes wide open.

WIS Free Shipping is $35. I used it twice yesterday to order some of the 50% titles that I didn't want to pay shipping for. I should've put one order in on the website instead of driving to GameStop twice (live and learn).

Bought a lot of niche games that my local stores didn't have in stock and I didn't feel like driving around to look for. There is a user here that will warn you of the dangers of WIS but its like any other GS.com order. Order and wonder afterwards (glad I have extra mint cases handy)

This didn't age too well eh?

I've been burned by the two Web In Stores I did on Sunday. Both lingered in processing limbo for some reason (when making the orders the payment method was listed as Gift Card but I used a Credit Card in store). Cancelled both on Wednesday, did all the games in one order that pushed it over the free shipping amount & was preparing to be shipped 10 minutes later. Was told to go in store to get my refund but they told me NOPE in store. After a call from the Store Manager to .com support, he was told 5 business days from the cancellation date to get a refund to my credit card. I'm not holding my breath as it is GameStop we are talking about here. I hate to go nuclear with a credit card chargeback but I might just have to.

Love that the Store Manager gave me a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth hat on my way out even though I didn't preorder (and after refusing someone coming in with a .com FFVII Preorder stating "They're not coming into my store & helping me out...why should I help them..." after they left lol).

You will very likely need to do a chargeback, consider yourself very lucky you didn't use trade credit or a gift card. The wis order showing gift card is normal regardless of payment method fyi.

I got my GameStop order in:
  1. Gal Guardians: Demon Purge (PS4, Sealed)
  2. Star Ocean: The Second Story R (PS4, Sealed)
  3. Tunic (PS4, Sealed)
  4. Trails into Reverie (PS4, Sealed)
  5. Nayuta: Boundless Trails (PS4, Sealed)
  6. Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles (Switch, GameStop New w/ everything in good condition)
Gents, I'm buying a lotto ticket this week. I won the GameStop lottery with 5 of 6 games being brand spankin' new.

Thanks, GameStop (unironically)

Though, they did send it all in a bubble mailer that barely made it.... :poop:

Damn that's impressive, I had a very similar order all gutted

The 4 for 20 and 4 for 10 is live.

Does anyone know if I can return a preowned game, and repurchase it right away using the new promo, 4 for 20 or 4 for 10?

As long as you’re within the return policy I don’t see why not. But you’d be repurchasing at the current price, not what you paid for it, incase they didn’t match up

Had $15 of credit approaching expiration, so I decided to order, concerned I wouldn't get sealed games.
Got
Dragon Quest Monsters Switch
Rhapsody Switch
Spells and Secrets Switch
None sealed. In a wonky little bag each. Annoyed, but at the price I paid, I guess I'm keeping them.

I had two cancelled web-in-store orders within a month of each other last holiday season, and despite multiple assurances from their store support line, I never saw a refund for either one. Thankfully the store manager refunded me from their own cash drawer each time to make it right, but the fact that their system is literally set up to steal from customers if an order gets cancelled seems like it should be worthy of a lawsuit.

4/$40 and 4/$20 are BOPIS ONLY.
Yeah, I got excited until I realized that. Had a whole cart of 16 games, and then realized it was store pickup only. The checkout was showing stores around me had maybe 2 of the items I wanted in stock. Crap promotion. If they allowed us to search the inventory of individual stores, this would work easier.

wtf, not even in store? Pointless promo with the inaccurate BOPIS inventory.

Not only that but if you go shop my store and go through most games there, you'll realize that they removed the store pick-up option for many games even though supposedly they have these games.

What is wrong with this company honestly? I feel like I'm single handedly supporting my local GameStops. It's always empty when I'm there. And here I am wasting my time, screwing about trying to figure out how I can actually use their promo and give them some business.

Well this is disappointing. There are several games at a store near me that I'd love to buy with this promo. Unfortunately, the website says a grand total of 6 video games are available at that specific store.

From my understanding, the site only shows games that have a quantity more than one in stock.

So it's kinda useless if most of the games you'd want are the super popular AAA stuff.

It looks like a deal that's "just to technically have a deal" but no actual savings. I wonder if they took a big hit from having to shift all that stock at either 50% off or moving it to used. Everything I got was under CIB pricing

is the '4 for $40 under $20' and '4 for $20 under $10' available in store as well or just online for in store pick up?

if the latter its as good as not being an active deal, since in store pickup functionality is broken AF on the site

so i waited til today to call about my order, got through in like 2 minutes and they are shipping replacements for both games. assuming they actually ship them and i get them, this was probably the best customer service from anywhere i have ever had. less than 5 minutes total.

In store is fine for the 4 for $40. I got two PS3 games and two Game Boy Advance games. I hope it becomes more of a trend to see older games in store.
Were those games originally shown as "Not Available" or "Verify Address" online, but the GSA was able to place the WIS order anyways?

I went and I got 4 PS4 games:

  • God of War
  • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
  • F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow
  • Dynasty Warriors

And the $1.99 copy of Scarlet Nexus to do a case swap on another game with a gross case. Then I'll sell that off or give it away.

None appeared on the website as available. I only knew these games were there because I was at the store a few days. No WIS needed.

They were normally priced at $20 each but got them at the sale price today. It was complete copies of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection/The Orange Box for PS3 and then cartridges of Activision Anthology/Super Mario Advance 2 for Game Boy Advance.

Bought a new copy of Coffee Talk Single Shot Edition for PS5 online. Comes in and of course not sealed. I would've been fine with that until I opened the box and found a generic black case with the disc in a sleeve. Returning this shit immediately. New my ass Gamestop

Games I recently got that went up in price:

  • Undernauts (PS4)
  • 13 Sentinels (Switch)
  • Little Witch Nobeta (PS4)
  • LoH: Trails to Azure (PS4)
  • LoH: Trails from Zero (PS4)
  • Scarlet Nexus(PS4)

It seems its all the games they shifted for new to used. Some of these were big jumps, too.

Always worth it to grab what you can, when you can for GameStop deals that are too good to be true.

Anyone know what the hogwarts legacy collectors edition for PS4 should be ringing up as in store? The Xbox version is $100, PC looks full price, and PS4 version not listed.

Great, thanks. Some employees lied to me to keep it for themselves if that is true. Guess I’ll go back tomorrow and see. I see one up high on the shelf, and say I might be interested. One employee says oh yeah, I’ve had my eye on that too for a while, waiting for a sale. I say I think it actually is on sale, could I check the price. The other employee at the computer chuckles a little and looks at the employee that said they wanted it like “wow, he’s right what should I say?” They don’t give me a straight answer, start talking about how it’s not available at any stores nearby, and then how if it’s pre-owned it’s probably missing some stuff. I’m fucking looking at a new condition one right here. I keep saying I’d like to get it if it’s on sale, and then they finally say it’s not. So I just dropped it, but knew that was kinda fishy. I should have trusted my gut, not been a push over and just made them get it down to check. It’s gone now I’m sure, magically, after sitting there for a year prior.

I was able to do a return/repurchase with the 4/40 promo. I purchased three games last week before I knew about the promo, and successfully got it to work. With the promo, I essentially got a free game and a $10 refund back on my card. Receipt attached.
