Target Clearance Thread XXIV

Okay I figured it was one of those states. I just got back from driving cross country and stopped into two random targets in Texas and Maryland hoping to get it at that price but nope. I can't seem to find any of these deals at Target in Southern California where I live.
so this is probably going to bite me in the ass but I believe if the item shows in stock at a target store on the website but doesn't allow pickup, it's most likely on clearance. I am sure there's other scenarios why you can't choose pickup but it seems to work based on my limited data.

ie a toy i know is on nation wide clearance is not available for pickup anywhere even though some stores have 9 of them

edit pickup theory failed today

I just use a barcode generator and scan at the price checkers. The only issue is a bunch of clearance items come up as see team member even though it's not salvaged yet

Yeah, I've observed that phenomenon as well. Pretty sure it started after they did a major change/update to the software on the price scanners some months ago. In my experience it also seems like their level of reliability in terms of them functioning properly has also been somewhat negativity impacted as well compared to prior. It certainly nowhere near the shit show that Walmart is with such things though.

In my experience this is sometimes true but also sometimes not. For example someone mentioned Astro Bot the other day and it showed as not available for pickup at the store closest to me but when I scanned it it was still full price.

Another problem I ran into was a clearance item scanning at a higher price on the price scanner and a cheaper price at the register

🤔 I should've scanned at the register then today. The one copy of Rise of the ronin been sitting on the clearance shelf for months. It always scan at full price but of course that's the online price though. For some reason those scanners wasnt working today so I should had price checked it

found stellar blade for $20.99

my pickup theory didn't pan out as two games that have been seen on clearance were full price

Nice finds! Would love to get Alan Wake at that price!

Was apparently too slow for $40 Suikoden 1 and 2 for Switch, when the heck did that go on sale? Tempted on the $40 Dragon Quest 3 though

Nice, I didn't realize you could still get free shipping on a singular game like that from Best Buy, mine is coming tomorrow but if I wanted to schedule it for a specific time for tomorrow it would have been $10 shipping which is also apparently their standard shipping rate?? mystifying lol, but I don't live in a porch pirate land so I guess I could see why people might want a specific time and could be worth $10 as insurance. I did notice Target is a bit stingier with qualifying for free shipping lately when I got romancing saga.

It may be worth considering signing up for Target Red Card so you never have to worry about free shipping again. There's a debit option if you don't want another credit card.

Checked in again and these games were all pulled for salvage yesterday (confirmed by guy in electronics). I'm surprised it happened so quickly.

The Nintendo Switch accessories previously reported were still on clearance though.

‘must be only your one store doing this. Not a single one of these is even $1 off at my local store.

Video game clearance at Target these days seems somewhat more YMMV than it used to be. A few months ago when they had that previous round of clearance I hit up several stores at the time and found that it was all over the place -- some titles were included at some stores but not others, and even the level of discount varied wildly. Anyway for what it's worth I also just saw one of the games I previously noted, Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Deluxe Edition (PS5), on clearance at a different location. Only that one title though.

Black Myth Wu Kang.png

^^ scored 2-3 weeks ago but phone died, anyways, $45, probably not the best deal right?

but I had $40 Target credit to burn before it expired that same day.

I figure if I move this to my immediate MUST PLAY in my back catalog, and start playing it today, it will be worth it vs the probable $35deal it will be this BF..

thoughts?

anyones Target electronic department getting renovated? My nearest Target electronic area has been completely gutted and they slowly been putting things back again(4 isles are put back, and ONLY Switch and Playstation stuff are back. No XBOX stuff of any kind like games/console/controller). It feels fishy seeing that we are just mere 2 weeks from the Switch 2 release(I forgot to ask an employee wtf is going on)

I wouldn't be surprised if stores stopped selling Xbox games in store (maybe having a small section for consoles and accessories). It's the slowest mover (even at game stores). For a big box store, they can use that space for something that actually sells regularly.
yeah thats what i was thinking too. Remove Xbox from stores(but still sell through Online) and the shelf space maybe used for the Switch 2 or something else
