Target Clearance Thread XXIV

You can do a local stock check here:

And then look for a location that shows it in stock but "Not eligible for Order Pickup". If you see that it may or may not be on clearance. Any location that shows as available to pickup definitely doesn't have the item on clearance though.
I wouldn't trust target stock checker, it's so off. My local store has 4 in stock but, they havent clearanced anything in months. It also sayss 0 are in stock in my location at both the stores and they have them on the shelf still. They're so bad with updating anything out here where I am.

if it says 0 are in stock they will never get clearanced, gotta have stock to have a reason to push a price change through

Thank you. I’m specifically looking for a PS5 compatible version. I did get a $150 wheel for 70% a couple years ago at target.

Most of my local stores for the link you gave say “ o longer sold at this store” instead of ‘out of stock’.

I’m hoping soon. I’ve been checking since it was posted here but they’re still full price. Sometimes they just pull stuff and don’t clearance it around here though.

You also get free monthly items.

But so far the 360 service has been very lacking for me. My grocery delivery order kept getting delayed every hour and even into the next delivery day. Which is a pain, because I only do grocery delivery if I need a certain last minute item for that day. Glad I got the 360 membership for free and didn't pay for it.

Never had it but looking at the benefits it really doesn't seem worth it, the vast majority of the good Circle deals just require an account with your phone number. I'd probably take it for free though if it were offered to check it out though.

There is a Target Circle deal where if you add your Target Circle Card information to your account you earn $5 in Target Circle Rewards. I had to delete my payment first and then re-add it to get it to work.

I'm not seeing it, but then I already had a Target Debit Red Card associated. Please link to the offer if you could, thanks.

I doubt I’ll use the same day delivery aspect. I’m too cheap to tip and seems like it’s expected.
Speaking as someone that does Shipt (that's Target's version of DoorDash) I wouldn't say it is expected, but it is the only way that makes it worthwhile for the driver.

I would say about 30% of the people I deliver to tip. Sometimes it's a great tip and other tips it's not. It all evens out in the end. The way I see people, tip what they can.

It is a great 2nd gig, but no way would I do Shipt as my only source of income.

If it arrived after June 10th.
Well I was about to give them a bunch of credit for doing something pro-consumer to help make up for it, but if that's the case with the date then they lost a lot of what they would have gained in my book. Honestly, it should have been days before that and more like after June 7th.

But what did they promise as a delivery date?

I don't know but it doesn't matter. It's a release of a hot new item and specifically the type of thing where people have the expectation to receive it ASAP, ideally by launch day. It launched on June 6th and if you didn't receive it by the 7th then that's just too late in my book. Nintendo was shipping these things to the US in droves for months prior to launch and they had these sitting around for some time, and we also saw reports of photos of consoles locked up in cages in retail stores days, if not a week, beforehand, thus further emphasizing the point, so whatever excuse Target might cook up I wouldn't accept. Plus there are people who were able to just walk into stores earlier on launch day and pick one up without having to preorder.

Nothing until week of release when it said by June 11th. Main problem is that people could walk into a store and buy it on release day while those that preordered had no choice but to wait. Would’ve been nice to offer in store pickup as a preorder option if it meant quicker receipt.
This is my issue too. I took the time to deal with trying to fight with their website in April to get my order in. Now come release date I could just walk into the store and buy one same day. I can not cancel my online order because it had spent the last day or two "Preparing to ship" when it should have been shipped at least a day before release. It is what it is I guess and I still saved money by shopping at Target but still.

Just to be clear when they say delivery by June 11 when you order the item….and it says it right there on the page when you are ordering…you want them to give you $50 if it delivers on the 10th?

Thats a take. To each their own.

My point was that the cutoff date that they went with just doesn't make a whole lot of sense as far as I am concerned. As I previously noted, 3 or 4 days after release is still far too late for an item such as this and yet if that happened to you get squat as compensation because it wasn't almost a week (or more) late instead. That sucks and as long as they are doing it to begin with then the cutoff date should have have been pushed up further. Like I said if you aren't getting this thing no more than a day late then it's too late in my book. And some people would honestly consider that generous. It's clear from various comments I've read in the past that Target blows when it comes to making good and delivering on time as far as video game related pre-orders are concerned and a case like this is arguably even worse as well since it's the kind of thing that only comes around once every several years.

So to answer your question, yes, because it should have been delivered soonerdoc

Target also doing B2 get 1 sale but I haven't been able to get it to work

Interesting. I don't see it in their weekly advertisement so maybe (even though it doesn't appear to be working) they jumped the gun with that. Anyway I'm thinking maybe they intended it to be for next week to compete with Amazon Prime Day week?

Also, I swear it's been quite awhile since they did one of these promos for video games. Of course it may very well be lackluster as has often been the case with these in the past.

LOL, first thing when I click that is a Switch 2. Sure, I'll do the cancel trick to get something discounted! :D

Do you remember if Switch 2 was available as a same-day delivery item? I currently have an offer of saving $100. $50 off a Target circle membership and then my first purch $50 or more I get another $50 off a same-day delivery item which I would need to use by July 19th. I'm not sure if a switch 2 qualifies though.

Target is doing their annual summer toy clearance right now to make room for Christmas stock. Most clearance toys are 30-50% off right now. Probably take a week or two to hit 70% off. Next major toy clearance will be in January for the 2026 restock.

Anyone in the market for a Nintendo Switch 2, this promo is perfect for buying that and a discounted gift card is probably one of, if not the only way to get a Switch 2 'on sale'.

As for me I have a backlog of games as it is so if anything I'll probably hold off on it until later this year maybe. They run the same 10% off Target store gift card promotion in like the first week of December every year so there should be another opportunity then.

I expect it won’t be available for a full week. Possibly a deal of the day. I’ve been stocking up on these the last couple of years and it’s worked out for me. They price match Walmart and AMAZON so between that and random deals, it’s easy to spend the $.

It’s always for a full week. They cap it at $500 worth per account so that’s how they keep people from exploiting it.

Eh, the Target text isn't clear:

"Guest-favorite “Deal of the Day” also returns with an expanded offering of three unique deals available each day of Target Circle Week including a 10% off Target GiftCards offer during the week."

I dunno. Vietnam tariffs said to be at 20% and China is probably higher. The Switch 2 no bundle will almost assuredly be going to $500 later in the year so Nintendo can make up the loss for its shareholders and pass on the TACO tax to consumers.

That’s where you just vote with your wallet and drop buying things. At this point in my life I don’t need much at all. It’s enjoyable NOT spending and saving up for down the road. Feels like real life turned into an rpg where you’re saving and saving and then you finally beat the game while never been using the items you’ve acquired. (Skyrim!)

I’m still trying to figure out where the tariff money is going. All I’m reading is the current people in charge are raising costs to the people while also cutting programs for the people. So where’s the money going…?
