I use my Switch a lot, I found it to be worth it after sinking hundreds and hundreds of hours into it. So, the battery is definitely better, unit is much quieter, and now I have a fresh warranty (along with a new set of joy-cons).
I didn't forget them, they're barely compelling points for the general consumer to spend an extra $100 - I mean, all of them, aside from the dock, are contingent on a set of circumstances that might come up. Die-hards or those really into gaming are in luck, because the OG Switch was made...
If they allowed TV functionality for the Switch Lite, there would be no reason for people to buy the original model... unless they think a slightly better battery and HD rumble are worth an extra $100, which most wouldn't even consider.

That's what I was thinking - basically got Christmas out of the way for a fraction of the cost thanks to that amazing glitch. That being said, they had that InstaPot glitch earlier this year that got discovered quite quickly and all orders were canceled, so anything could happen.
Man, I miss Media Play. The prices were not great, but I don't remember them being particularly horrible either... depending on what you were purchasing, I suppose. I went there mostly for CDs & DVDs during my high school years, pretty much made a weekly trip to blow my paycheck there. I was...
Bruh. Platinum and Diamond alone could net nearly double that for cart only.
I would not be as blaisé about the additional stack, there's money to be had there.
I might just do this as my Switch gets noisy right at startup and I've put hundreds & hundreds of hours into it.
That being said, I'm unaware if the Switch requires any transferring between units to preserve data or if it's all just tied to the account...
I live out in the boondocks of MN. Ordered Friday evening and it was, surprisingly, at my door before noon the next day.
I know what you mean though, this seems to be coming the norm more and more lately.
