What exactly do you guys mean when you say "spaghetti westerns"?

Wow guys all great responses. I didn't realize there were so many great classics and I will be trying to watch as many as I can. I had forgotten about Firelfy and Serenity. I think I've only seen maybe one or two episodes of them but maybe will try to watch them again from the beginning.

I see that Stranglehold is also on sale for PS3 (although out of stock at the moment) for 9.99...which of the two games would you guys say is better? Or maybe I should get both...

Appaloosa...I thought was a very good movie

What do you guys think about the newer westerns such as 3:10 to Yuma, Assassination of Jesse James, Appaloosa, etc vs. the older westerns that you guys have listed? How do they stand up? Are they as good as the "old classics"?
