If your old ps3 is working, I am almost certain that you can transfer all settings and game data from the old to the new by connecting them with an ethernet cable. There is an option in the menu to transfer from old to new system.

I think I'm going to go with the Gamestop refurb for $230 and then get their 1 yr warranty for $20. I also will wait until this "Playcation" deal is offered since it is supposed to be an extra 50% trade in value vs the current 40%.

Most super slims go for about $270 new in stores. The slims that I have seen go for about $300 new and they are much harder to find. Gamestop has a 320GB slim with a move bundle for $300 but is not widely available.
