You could try renting it. Or on the less expensive route go to Game Stop, buy it used, and if you don't like it return it within 7 days. I know it's kind of underhanded to do that but as long as it's not abused I don't see an issue if you genuinely don't like the game.

Hi all. I just got SOCOM last week and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Either I am really bad(which is probably true) or everyone is so good I just can't keep up. Is there a server you all play on regularly? I'd like to see if I have some real fun before I decide on returning the game!

Either based off the open beta(which isn't really fair since it wasn't a finished product) or I think the servers were up for some contest someone was doing. It's possible Zipper opened up the servers early for the press to get some quality time in before the mass insurgence of people begins.

Beta is over anyway so they would have been useless. It's worth the wait! I enjoyed it even when we were dieing horribly and I'm not usually a fan of console shooters. If it wasn't for my wedding next month I'd have it reserved.
