    Official 2009 Yard Sale Thread

I didn't have much luck at all this weekend except for one pretty good deal. Friday I went out to a community sale that advertised nintendo games. One sale had a couple NES games and I picked up Zelda, Dr. Mario, and Donkey Kong Classics for $2. The sale that had the games advertised had some...

Yeah, I'll hold out. I've been to a ton of yard sales last summer and never got a GC so I'm getting overly anxious.

    The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

I saw a game store that's selling off their game cubes for 15 bucks on craigslist. Should I buy any or can they be found for cheaper at garage sales? I know they usually only sell for 30 anyways. It's a 30 minute drive one way which is what is holding me back. (I was also there earlier this...

    The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

I found an ad today on craigslist for a game store that was going out of business. Someone bought up most of the SNES and N64 games, but I picked up a bunch of PS1, genesis, dreamcast, and saturn games pretty cheap. I didn't know whether anything was good for a resell, but I just got a bunch...

    Official 2009 Yard Sale Thread

Out of curiosity, how many of you guys have found great games on Saturdays from sales that have been happening since Friday? Sometimes I see signs when I'm driving around on a Saturday for sales that are Fri + Sat and I usually just skip them because I assume all the good stuff would be gone.

That's what I figured. I thought if I couldn't get the console to work, at least I have those.

    The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

Yeah, she told me it still plays games, but it has hard time reading them and they just got tired of it. So I just haven't experienced any problems yet. What I have noticed is some people have systems that are downright broken and they still try to charge you $50 when you can find working...

    The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

I got a "broken" original xbox with three working first party controllers and all the hookups for $10. It was supposed to have problems reading disks as the lady said she just got tired of messing with it. I took it home, hooked it, and it read my only 3 xbox disks fine. I tried a couple...

    Official 2008 Yard Sale Thread

Not much luck today. I had a guy who I believe was a reseller buy a PS2 and some games right as I was getting to a sale for $35. The guy asked for 45 and the costumer countered with how he picked these up for like 25-35 and the seller accepted a lower price. I checked out the other games and...

    Game Resellers "Must Buy" Guide

Yeah, that sounds very similar to me. I have to limit my sales and hope I can at least make my gas money back from a good deal here and there.

    Game Resellers "Must Buy" Guide

I'm not going to argue with you. I'm getting tired of defending myself against unwarranted "attacks" on my intentions. I have calmly and reasonably addressed all of these concerns and I can appreciate where you are coming from. To sum up what has already been said: I *have* done my own...

    Game Resellers "Must Buy" Guide

Yeah, that's got to be disappointing. I guess I figured if I was chatting with some friends, I'd have no problem sharing anything I know, and saw this site as a collection of guys who will help each other out in a similar fashion. The risk with the internet however is that it's there for...

    Game Resellers "Must Buy" Guide

I understand this. That is why I said the reason I can see people not wanting to share information is that they don't want others to have it as it would take their own edge. I was simply defending that I was capable of doing and have done my own research, but it isn't a crazy notion to help...

    Video game thievery-Target the target

While reading this thread, I couldnt' help but to think of one of those 20/20 type stories where they had a hidden camera and had fake shoplifters in a store. It was a smaller type store, not a chain. They made sure costumers saw the shoplifting while the owner pretended to be busy. Then the...

    Video game thievery-Target the target

I think we all can agree that a large corporation being robbed of some video games is a relatively small offense compared to an individual or smaller family owned business being robbed. I'm also sure there are plenty of situations people on here would rather not get involved in when they weigh...

    Video game thievery-Target the target

Generally the right thing to do is report if someone is shoplifting. Sometimes doing the right thing involves doing something that doesn't actually benefit you, or can actually cause you loss. I'm not sure I would tackle someone, though I share the distaste for shoplifters. To report it to...

    Game Resellers "Must Buy" Guide

So far that's kind of been my strategy. As a general rule it's buy any role playing games, avoid any older sports games. It's with the random games that it gets a little more complicated.
