Does anyone have the new slimmer slim ps2?

Look in the thread on the PS2 90000 series, I posted a few pics there. It is indeed a very durable system, from what I can tell. They've been around for almost a year now over in Japan, and I haven't heard of any complaints about them busting. I got mine around launch, early last month before...

    PS2 on HDTV?

One thing that is necessary to remember, you will need component cables if you want to get the best results from a PS2 on an HDTV. I currently have a PS2 hooked up to a standard crt 32' component, and a BC PS3 on my Sony 40' 1080P HDMI. In 4:3, every game is playable on the HDTV. While some...

    PS2 90000 (even slimmer) spotted in-store (US)

Ahh, good call. I had a funny feeling that it was probably in the older models as well, since Sony probably would have marketed it as having new features if not.

    PS2 90000 (even slimmer) spotted in-store (US)

On the 90000 series, the door opens up 75% when laying flat on a table, and you have to lift it the rest of the way. If it's standing on it's side, it opens all of the way without fail. ALSO, I should mention that the 90000 series has a smoothing option, like the PS3. You can set it by going...

    PS2 90000 (even slimmer) spotted in-store (US)

yeah, as I mentioned earlier, I would have much rather preferred a Ceramic White, but it's whatever. From what I understand, the 79000 series is just as reliable as the 90000, but the former PS2 models could have compatability issues with PS1/PS2 games alike, as well as overheating issues...

    PS2 90000 (even slimmer) spotted in-store (US)

Then you didn't buy a 90000 series. To this day, the stores have been phasing out the 79000 series. I had to search high and low for a 90000. If you live in the U.S., then what you got was a 79000. They did not arrive in the states until about a little more than two weeks ago.

    PS2 90000 (even slimmer) spotted in-store (US)

The 90000 series is very glossy on the top. I feel that it gives the system more character, when compared side by side to the 70000 slim. I picked it up at my local Walmart, as Target didn't have any, and out of the 4 local Gamestop's near me, only one of them acknoledged that the system...
