Indie/Limited/Obscure Physical Release Deals and Discussion Thread

Same. It's insane that that couldn't have ever been cancelled. SRG turned out to be one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. When that Broforce finally arrives it will just be going straight to Ebay where I'm sure I'll take a hit. I am sure I'll get the wide release before that SRG...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

You're talking about a game only being viable "at launch" in a thread about the company that is selling physical Gameboy/Genesis/SNES cartridges in the 2020s. The vinyl example was about an ancient and inferior physical format still selling to this day. None of the physical formats are...

LRG can totally exist even if no hardware has a physical media slot. They are still making games for ancient platforms. And we've already seen that you sure don't need the actual game to sell a physical version. Empty cases have been at retail with no disc/cartridge and I can see that...

What method would that be? I'd love to get my money back from that awful company. They charge at the time the order is placed don't they? Otherwise, I probably would go through the hassle of cancelling my credit card. Anyone complaining about LRG can know it CAN get worse - that should be...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

Strictly Limited Games makes LRG look like a well-oiled machine. It's best just to forget you ordered anything from them and be surprised if you're still alive when it shows up.

Really, LRG's entire shipping operating is just amazing. These mysterious "queues" that are so incredibly inflexible and and insurmountable. It is ridiculous that they admit they made a mistake and somehow their "queue" system managed to miss your order from the "first pull" (LOL). To make up...

Indie/Limited/Obscure Physical Release Deals and Discussion Thread

I was on the Best Buy site and got a recommendation for.... Broforce.  LOL.  I hadn't heard about the wide release until then, but it shouldn't have surprised me given that other stuff I had ordered from Special Reserve Games ended up with a superior wide release.   2+ years after I ordered (and...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

I totally agree. A lot of the vitriol in this thread has always come off as way over-the-top and at times (many times) even a bit disturbing. I've seen a couple of other indie-businesses have a rep engage in a forum and they sure weren't as thick-skinned as Doug. For me, all of the "proof"...

I don't even get why anyone would prefer the ESRB rated copy over the Asia version. I'd rather have no rating logo on the cover than a rating logo on the cover.

And is this cassette stuff really for real?  When cassettes started being offered up, I thought it was almost like some gimmicky joke.  Are people actually buying them to play them?

Yeah, I thought that was weird, but assume it's because they suspect some people will buy that Ultimate Edition for $175 just to get the full CD soundtrack.

The pic of the Ultimate edition in the e-mail didn't have the steelbook, but it does on the site at least.   Also, the e-mail shockingly showed no physical game in the Ultimate, but a STEAM KEY in it's place (Edit - I see there is a PC version).  The current listing on the site shows a physical...

Same. The steelbook cover was so bad, though, that I didn't even want to know that I had something with that inside of it. It's a headscratcher. Someone looked at that and said "cool". Or LRG just got the 3 pieces of key art and said "we have no choice." There was a choice - just skip the...

The Home Arcade Tremendous Deals and Discussion Thread

Better screen, better marquee, better audio, little grill covers for the speakers, no riser needed to maintain similar height (still a little taller than previous versions), tilted screens for Pac-Man/Class of '81 to more accurately resemble the arcade units, online leaderboards.... It's way...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

Did you add a shipping box? I noticed a while back that adding a shipping box causes the shipping cost to jump, which is really odd considering that they'll use a shipping box at no additional charge if you have 3 Switch games in the order, order a CE, or have at least 1 PS4/PS5 game in a...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

Shadow Warrior 3 is nothing compared to Broforce. But, don't worry - Broforce will ship in 2023. Sure. And Shadow Warrior 3 is delayed because they made a "definitive" edition for next-gen consoles, that I guess has some updates applied to the PS4 version? I am sure they are itching to put...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

Yep, as much as I'll defend them as well, those are all pretty ridiculous. Literally, what they "promise" is accurate, but they have to know when using a term like "ASAP" that anyone would think it's going to ship pretty quickly. But, that "P" means "possible" and for LRG that possibility is...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

I get that with some of their distro titles and it for sure usually the case now - many are clearly available at Amazon and LRG and they state it on their product page. "Ender Lilies" was released quite a while ago, went through it's limited pre-order period, shipped, went for inflated prices...

Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

Super Rare has always been the best since they started from what I recall - with the rare exception of maybe a second batch coming later, they seem to take orders when they have product and ship almost immediately. Speaking of re-prints - and I have to imagine this has been discussed already...

Yeah, that is a pleasant surprise. I feel about SRG the way many in this thread seem to feel about LRG. That would've been really tough for me if SRG had Return to Monkey Island. I probably would've caved and bought it despite swearing them off.
