The Steam Deal Thread V2 - Dig into those holiday games. V3 thread coming soon!

Great game concept its a lot of fun, but be prepared to play with bots until they do a free weekend/another sale (which isn't that bad, and kind of fun tbh). Tried last week on 3 different days at various times to see if anyone was playing, and it was completely dead--I was the only one on...

the coupons aren't very enticing since it seems most of these games will be as expensive or more after the holiday sale... I enjoyed getting items in the summer sale for games I didn't even had but anticipated getting in the future. I could care less about these coupons and coal, and even the...

The Binding of Isaac is a decent buy at roughly $5: I'd say if you liked Super Meatboy, you'll probably like this one. Its in the category of old school game rehashed--nothing incredibly new, just well done, entertaining old-school game play for cheap. However, warning--if you use...

That Settlers 7 looks great, was/still am a big fan of Dawn of Discovery, anyone know if the game takes the economy idea and bumps it up? Not a fan of DRM, but I was eyeing it during the holiday sale....

Heh, felt the same way about it, when I got it from a Steam Indie bundle way back when...only played it for about an hour, and decided I'll just stick to World of Goo...still have to finish that one, given that it's not only fun, but I'd still like to know what happens storyline-wise.

Magicka has been patched practically *every day* since its release, and while it was frustrating at release, it's definitely playable now. If you enjoy being a pain in the ass, trolling, griefing, and otherwise just screwing around, not doing the objectives--in a fun way (not advocating going...

Yeah a real fun very casual game...played it a couple times since the sale, for the hell of it, since it takes a few minutes to play through again. Reminds me a lot of those old "edutainment" PC CD-ROM games that had little quirky things you can click on while "playing" it.

Magicka--My friends and I bought it on Thursday for its multiplayer aspect. Couldn't get past the tutorial, with disconnect problems, and game glitches (like people disappearing and not coming back). As it was, you have to connect to another person's box to play, and as we all had routers with...

I was really tempted to get the Tomb Raider spinoff, but I thought since it was a two-player ordeal, I thought I'd be missing out if I went it alone...guess I'll have to pick it up next time its out. I have GTA4 still sitting in my games to play folder, and somewhat intimidated by the amount of...

Don't suppose you have any experience with League of Legends? If you do, don't suppose you can draw any comparisons/opinions on the appeal for a LoL fan... Would have preordered already, but still recuperating from thanksgiving to treasure hunt to holiday steam sale... As an aside, anyone...

Great game, has the city building, trading, and combat (however somewhat light, from what I've experienced so far) all into one. Really like the art/graphics of it...for $15 great deal for both the original & expansion....just picked up the expansion for $10. One thing though, I found the...

you know, semi related--the way civ 4 complete has 2 copies of the game and its expansions listed in the library always annoyed the heck out of me--I guess it has something to do with support for PC and Mac versions, or so I heard.

not sure if this is the place to discuss the indie packs, and a lot of them don't have an actual forum on steam... anyone tried: guns of icarus burn zombie burn, or the void delve deeper? I have lots of odds and ends within the packs, so may end up buying some games again depending on how good...

I think as far as its multiplayer playerbase viability, MNC has the most anticipation and word of mouth I've heard for a non AAA title. As a fan of both TF2 and DoTA style games (been addicted to LoL lately), I couldn't wait for this to appear on PC, as I don't really care to give MS money for...

Given how new it is, and there was one other deal for it (although I think it was more or less the same amount) I'd think its going to be $10 for a while. Maybe on sale during xmas for less, but sort of doubt it with that sale coming up in a few weeks.

Agreed on the negative sentiment regarding UnderGarden--only checked out the demo, but for some reason could not figure out how I could use my xbox360 controller for 1st player--only allowed it for 2nd player for some reason. Seemed to be a neat concept with lackluster/boring gameplay, or at...

the chime achievement is super easy. Although if you have any issue with seeing the outline of the blocks, try restarting the game a few times.

Congrats, assuming you haven't played portal, or TF2. I think of all my steam games, I have the most time invested in TF2, my favorite FPS...and portal is great, can't wait for portal 2. But, a secret between you and me...I haven't played Half life 2 yet either 8-[ ...and I had every reason...
