Steam will actually let you turn off updates for individual games. The option is under the "updates" tab in the game properties window. That won't help you if you need to reinstall an older version of course.

Uh, I think the Assassin's Creed pricing got messed up. Brotherhood was $7.50 earlier when I was looking into its DRM, but now it's back up to ~$20, and AC2 is at ~$15. Wasn't the Steam PM good until tomorrow?

Does anyone here know what DRM is on the Amazon PCDD version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood? According to Wikipedia the retail PC version uses Tages, which I certainly don't want touching my system.
