Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

So, with Embracer breaking up into several different companies, Limited Run will be under Freemode, which itself is under Middle-earth Enterprises and Friends.

    The 2024 Gamestop Thread

GameStop had their own version of Limited Run with GameTrust, which put out a few games like Song of the Deep (Insomniac), Deformers (Ready at Dawn), Has-Been Heroes (Frozenbyte), and The Invisible Hours (Tequila Works), as well as teaming up with IndieBox to put out steelbook editions of PC...

    The 2024 Gamestop Thread

There are some weirdos like me out there. I've been buying Xbox games for more than 20 years and never really stopped. (OG Xbox and 360 near the top; Xbox One and Xbox Series X games closer to the bottom.)

I was a huge fan of Gynoug under its American title: Wings of Wor. The first level has some of my all-time favorite gaming music too. That’s one to maybe keep an eye out for.

Studios are most valuable when they come with intellectual property. That's why Insomniac went for relative peanuts; the properties associated with their most popular games are owned by other companies. Embracer is holding onto franchises like Saints Row and Red Faction, which makes a Volition...

    Best Buy YMMV Thread

Ditto. It's been a while since a game I pre-ordered for delivery from Best Buy hit its release date, so I'm expecting the same here. Edit! Color me surprised. Both the art print and Wonder showed up this morning, even managing to pass through the FedEx black hole of Ellenwood, GA swiftly...

    Best Buy YMMV Thread

Virtually all their home media is fulfilled by Alliance Entertainment: new, catalog, basically all of it. I’ve had a handful of titles ship from stores (like when they had Marvel UHD steelbooks on closeout), but it’s very rare.

    The 2024 Gamestop Thread

Of the four games I ordered, all but one were factory-sealed, which I'm pleasantly surprised by. And for the one that was gutted (Jedi Survivor deluxe), the price sticker peeled right off, the disc looked untouched, and the cosmetic DLC code redeemed fine, so whatever. I couldn't pick it up...

It sounds like this is the first salvo of Sega titles, so here should be more to come. And maybe this deal also played a role in the Genesis version of Jurassic Park being added to that collection? Edit! Nevermind. I forgot that LRG already had a relationship with Sega and that I even own...

LRG is under the Embracer umbrella, yeah. I don't think we've heard anything about LRG being hit by the layoffs we've seen at some other Embracer properties. Dunno if that's because LRG has been spared thus far or if word just hasn't broken yet. Embracer is core to LRG's plans for European...

I still have the PS4 version of Shin Chan in-progress, which was was my first (and, so far, only) LRG order since 2020. I’ve picked up other LRG releases since then through Best Buy and Amazon, though. With the types of games I usually go for, and the fact that I’m not really a collector’s...

For my money, anyway, the concern is less "will Embracer kill LRG?" -- which I don't think is likely, at least not in the near future -- so much as Embracer's troubles making it more difficult/impossible for LRG to shore up what's not working. I'm not sure how they solve the shipping problem...

If you're referring to his tweet from August 12th, it's "some huge games" rather than one game, and: I don't think Josh has said much about this since, but:

It's unclear how many games this deal involves, but it's more than one for sure. Maybe a franchise, maybe an entire line of games, maybe a bunch of older games that have fallen out of circulation?
