I did say 'YMMV'. Different stores handle clearance differently. The Kmart here had an odd assortment of retired sets on clearance, and only the toys out front had the signs.

YMMV, but the local Kmart randomly jumped to 50% off clearance toys. If you still have a store near you, it may be worth it to look.

This is called deceptive pricing, and it's illegal in the US. Although it being 'clearance' might give it an exception.
