i was wrong about preordering on amazon, it was simply the release day drop from which i ordered nov. 10/11 will edit my previous post to reflect this, 

perhaps thats what im remembering.. my order date was nov. 10th so i could be mistaken and that might have been the "release date" and not a preorder. sorry for my confusion

Physical slop. Like ball wobble.. Extra wiggle room.. Not enough to fall out upside down but its rattly, and certainly has way more play than my other previously owned standard controller. Its most noticeable with the rounded top/longest sticks, but acceptable with the shortest.
