Is your PS3 backwards compatible or do you have a PSP? Pick up Persona 4 or Persona 3 Portable. Its half school sim - half hard core jrpg with Monster Rancher-like demon breeding elements.

I spent over 10 hours yesterday and today fucking around with Oblivion mods only to play 60 minutes before I realised that I didn't want to play it any more.

That's exactly how I played Oblivion. I think I closed one gate and finished Knights of the Nine but I didn't really play any of the main quest.

Extra crap doesn't interest me. I don't have room for all the crap I have as it is. In other news, installing Oblivion. My excitement meter for Skyrim is maxed out. I'm on a media black-out for it now.
