I'd suggest going to Half Price Books if you have one in your area. They have tons of C books, and since the language hasn't evolved much recently, you can get a previous edition for cheap. I second the suggestion above... that's an awesome C book.

I've seen them sitting in several Targets in the Houston area for $499. They are sitting with the 80GB and 40GB PS3s. I haven't checked around the Plano area yet, but I would highly recommend searching the Targets closest to you.

That's what I used to think too, but recently my console suffered this exact problem. It went on for days without the red ring of death ever appearing. Luckily, I had purchased the extended warranty through Microsoft, and they fixed the problem. Otherwise, I would have had to pay out of pocket.
